I have 2 older Athlon Slot A based computers (500mhz & 900mhz) which are only AGP1.0. The 900 has a Geforce256 (GF1), the 500 has an ATI Velocity 128. I wanted to move the GF256 to the 500 computer & get a better card for the 900 to give to a friend. (Parts for my new AMD 2000+ and GF4 should be in later this week- woohoo!)
All the specs I've seen for Geforce2 and up are AGP 2.0. Is the Geforce 256 (GF1) the best I can get? How about ATI boards (I'm not familiar with them)? Would I be better off looking into a PCI based GF2-MX or 4-MX?
