Best car you ever owned?

Amigos are hugely popular in HI like national car or something. You see them lowered and lifted with V8s and heavy duty drive trains and everything in between.

D:

I mean, I could imagine a nice Amigo, and I've seen a few on PlanetIsuzoo for that matter. What I couldn't imagine is putting a lot of money into one, or making one a lowrider or even really lifted...eh, yuck.

I'm seriously thinking about a 2006 CTS 6-speed right now, but I won't be able to get it until mid-March next year, so even though it has been on the lot for a while, I doubt it will sit there that long...we'll see. I think that will be better than the two vehicles previously driven.

My first car.

I know you all are green with envy. I liked it when I got it heh.

I've only owned Subaru's so far. First car: 95 Legacy, handled surprisingly well and was very large inside. Brakes sucked, and it was slow. but I quite liked it.

However, the best car is what replaced that. The 2005 WRX. There are times where the car kind of annoys me, that's until I put the hammer down and drift it through a corner. God I love this car! It's never let me down, taken through some crazy rain, roads covered in ice, and it's never put a foot wrong. Now that I modified the suspension and put on good tires it handles very well. I'll never sell it. I bought it when I was 17, and my love for it just keeps increasing.

I love my TDI, but I still think not getting another GTI was a mistake sometimes.

APR tune made this thing ridiculously fun to drive.

My two favorite cars of all time that I have owned:

1989 Isuzu Spacecab, 2wd - had the chrome package, drove super smooth, and was super clean. Drove it for 7 years before trading it in on a 4wd Jimmy. I regret trading it in to this day. Drove it cross country about 6 times when I was in the Army.
Looked like this other than factory allow wheels and 2wd:

My Current 2000 Honda Insight - Super low maintenance, phenomenal efficiency, and fun to drive even with 170k miles.

Best: First SAAB 900 Turbo. Bought new, needed only brakes, 2 CV joints and one engine ECU in 234,000 miles (and some other minor stuff, too). Was pretty long in the tooth by the time I got rid of it though.

1993 Ford Explorer. Bought slightly used, needed nothing in 93,000 miles. Looked as new inside and out and drove like it when I gave it away.

Worst: Second new SAAB 900 Turbo. Something was always wrong with that car. Was a relative heap at 128,000 miles.

2008 honda civic, no problems with 53000 miles on it and 30-40MPG. Car has been flawless.

Previous cars
1992 Pontiac Grand am(terrible)
2000 Nissan Maxima(buggy but fun)
2006 Chevrolet Impala SS(buggy and not as fun as you would think with a V8)

85 nissan 200SX Turbo

2000 lbs, rwd, fun to drive

i was fond of my worked over 97 saturn sc2 that I took to a trackday too

In the sig... 7200lbs and runs 14.3 in the 1/4 mile and gets 19mpg plus pulls 15K lbs like its having fun... Sorry aint no car... 🙂

When it ran, a 76 Suburban. It was huge, solid as a rock, could haul god and the whole choir. I could sleep comfortably in the back. 6' from closed tailgate to back of back seat, 8' to back of front seat (swallow whole sheet of plywood), 12' to base of windshield for really long stuff. No fear.

I would have to say a 1991 Honda Prelude 2.1 Si AWD (you don't see too many of the 2.1 around). It was my my high school sweet heart, and boy it was super freaking fun in the mountain. Light as a shoe and can turn on a dime due to the AWD, man I think I may have to find one in good condition somewhere.

I remember those. One word: Badass.

Nice car, that is a mk6 tdi w/Gti wheels?

Lol no, I used to have a MKV GTI, I traded it in for a MKV Jetta TDI when the lease ended.

I had the option of of either a GTI or a loaded Jetta TDI for the same price, went with the Jetta.

So far, I guess it'd have to be my old B2, an '85 VW Quantum. 2.2L 5 cyl, 5 spd manual. I drove the crap out of that car, and it slurped it up... I routinely drove like an idiot up and down I-95 along the CT shore in that car. Got stopped by a CT state trooper once going 95 in a 55 along the New Haven/West Haven border. Car died an untimely death when it got rear-ended hard at a stoplight in West Haven. Used the insurance $ to replace it with an '83 5 cyl Quantum, which wasn't quite as much fun since it was an auto, but that was still a nice ride too.

Haven't had my B5 long enough to call it the favorite, but it's promising. I gave up driving like an idiot, though, so whether I'll ever wind it up over 80 MPH remains to be seen.

Edit: 'Sup, Z.

1989 SHO was the best lowest car to maintain that I have ever own. Bought it used for $3500 CAD in 1998 with 130,000 kms on the odometer. I drove the snot out of it by 2008 at 340,000 kms, the transmission was getting a bit sloppy and the suspension/bodywork was falling apart before I retired it. And, the only thing that I replaced on it beside regular maintenance was the ECU, water pump, and brake line hose.

Worst car that I have ever own was a Saab 99 T, VW Scirocco, and VW Vanagon.
