Ok, I have been looking at a few of these at Best Buy, Circut City and places like that....

But like all my other info, I look to the forum just to make sure I'm not missing a great deck and/or deal somewhere.

They seem to have a good selection of diff brands, and I think the Aiwa looks kinda cheesy....

Any ideas here guys ??

Thx in advance

I have the JVC SH-99. Took me weeks of research to decide but I am happy I got it.

Check out this site:
Highwaymp3

In my opinion: Aiwa is crap. Too toyish. Alpine is too much money, same with Clarion. The only one that compares to the JVC is the Kenwood, but even that one feels like a toy when you compare it to the JVC.

As to where I got mine, SpeedSound.com. Took them 1 day to get it to me and cost $100 less than Crutchfield when I ordered mine.

Look into this one.. you wont be let down.

Kenwood is leading the pack as far as Car MP3 CD, IMO

Thier latest deck is absolutely loaded with great features and quality.

Thats the current battle.. Kenwood Vs. JVC. Depending on who you talk to either one will sound better..

Cool....glad you are pleased with the Kenwood....

It is an option, but I need to know why it's better, I mean I would fall in "love" with any cd player as long as it worked....right?

Any of them are better than what I have now....no contest at all.

I'm sorry to be so picky people, but I wondered about the the Blau because it offers Mp3, WMA's and directory play, along with what seems to be alot of power for a CD head unit...and clean too.

Now if I could only get one that would match my car dash lights....I think I would just jump on it.

I'm sure JVC & Kenwood would make me happy, no dought, but I was just wondering....

Has anyone found an auto in-dash mp3 player that also is an xm receiver??? Xm is the new satellite radio.

I believe there are a few....

Check out LordJezo's post at the top of the thread...he has a few liks to get you started.

I would look at that but I'm not yet interested in XM yet, and when I am, they have a cool little add-on that will work great.

Just my 2 cents

I'd give a vote for the JVC SH-99. I've got one in my Jeep, and it works great. Only complaint are the small buttons & smaller labelling. Not tough for a passenger, but putting the darn player in 'random' while bouncing down the highway in a Jeep is a bit of challenge... Flawless playback though, and it seems very high quality.

BEST?
Alpine 7878

I use the top o the line Kenwood, only because the Alpine wasn't out.
I also have the low end Kenwood, and it is great.

How are the one's Koss makes? I've seen them on ebay for around $100. I'm not looking for frills; I'm looking for something that can play MP3's off a CD-RW. Will it fit the bill?

I've got a JVC car deck and I love it. Have had no problems with it. It's about 3 years old now.

Ok, so if I had to list what I want in my new deck...it would look like this.

  • High-power, but CLEAN ...around 50x4
  • MP3, Nice tuner...sensitive
  • Fold away face...I'm not really liking the detachable option.
  • Has too look cool....not cheap or cheesy
  • I may add a Rockford Fosgate 4-ch amp to this....If anyone has a good CLEAN alternative to RF, please fire away. (Alpine is overpriced)

I hope this will help narrow this down some....

Oh yeah, I really like the FULL display of the new sony cd players....but they dont have MP3

Of course, I would like to have a cool display

Any more input....I have gone through all of the links...Thx LordJezo....cool stuff

It would seem that the Blau is great with one problem....some say the display is too bright at night.

I guess the harness wont let all cars adjust the display with the dash lights....

Any installers out there ??

Any more input ??
