Kirk, you have to realize he (as well as the whole series) was dealing with a very conservative network in the late 60's. they did a nice job considering.
 
Easy...Picard. I liked Zulu as captain alot too, better than Kirk. Kirk is third on my list. Everyone else sucked.

Depends on the criteria... if it's a$$-kickin' then I'd definitely have to go with Kirk. But for leadership ability and charisma, I'd go with Picard.
 
I like Kirk and Picard equally

Only kirk could have played the original role in that campy way that made it popular.

Then Picard added a lot of credibility to what was traditionally regarded as a show only for geeks

I really disliked Janeway, she was a little too much like a primary school teacher in my opinion

Picard, end of story...

Too bad Star Trek (spinoffs) are no longer entertaining. TOS was great, TNG was the best, DS9 had its moments, VOY was a waste of airtime (these are my opinions, I have expressed them, you might agree/disagree no need for flames now, if you do not concur with my thoughts, then debate in a civilized manner)

Please please please let Enterprise be at least somewhat okay. If only Roddenberry was still around 🙁
 

picard could beat them all with no legs no arms no eyes... hell with no head either...

sisko is a close second though...
