I might be getting some extra money in a month or so and I want to start looking into a C2D setup. I only want to spend $100-$150 for the motherboard. I will be o/cing within a month or two of buying(once the newness wears off). So the board must o/c well.

So whats the most talked about C2D motherboard in this price range(if any)? I'll probably get the e6300.

BTW is a 480watt 24pin Dual Rail Enermax enough power nowadays to run a C2D setup(non SLI/Crossfire)

Yep I have the S3 and its a great board. I went to gigabyte after using Asus. The gigabyte ran better and overclocked better.

Which asus marlin. Not all asus created equal.

I've been looking at the p5b-e, d3 and foxconn. Not sure which I will go with but the highlights:
has most features ($154) (also new design - after the earlier asus p965 boards), d3 ($144) early board very popular, foxconn (late design - well regarded - $102) - hte p5b-e has intel raid, firewire, jmb raid and (better or different sound chip), the d3s has jmb raid (no firewire), the foxconn has no raid but has e-sata.

The P5B-E will achieve higher overclocks than the DS3. More people have reached 500+FSB on the P5B than the DS3.
