Yesterday, I went into best buy looking around.... I saw an open box Compaq Laptop, the price said $589, It seemed like a decent deal depending on the specs. Well, I asked one of the employees what the specs were, he brought me to a computer and we saw the specs, but the price said $449.99. I asked him if that's the price I'd get it for, he said he'd have to ask his manager. He came back and told me it was really $424.99.

So, I got this laptop, open-boxed but in new condition for $424.99

Compaq V2306US
1.3 GHZ Celeron-M
512 MB RAM
60 GB Hard Drive
14.1" Widescreen

Although it's not the fastest, It'll be fast enough for what I'm using it for.

For 400 bucks its not a bad deal in my eyes. 1.3ghz celly would just piss me off though.

I have 30 Days to return it, It was never registered so I get the full one year warranty from HP.

I was told I have 30 days, the manager told me. I highly doubt I'll be returning it because, if for some reason I dont' want it, I could sell it on ebay for a profit.

So far I'm quite happy with my purchase.... it seems like a decent laptop for $424.99.

The screen is very nice, It seems perfectly fast for what I'm doing. It also seems pretty well built.

I got two of the walmart laptops for sub 400 and they had sempron 2800+ and 256 memory and 40 gb hdd and wireless

That's roughly the same price as you'd get it for directly from HP with an employee discount (I think I could get it for $10 cheaper)... so in other words, not bad.
