Best Buy upgrade Verizon phone early?

Quick question to those of you who may have tried this before.

My current phone is a Motorola Krave ZN4. I hate this phone. Loathe it. Despise it. I've been counting down the days until my upgrade for over a year now. It is nearly upon me: December 15th I'm eligible for my upgrade :).

Here's the kicker though: the phone that I have my sights set on is the Samsung Fascinate. Normal upgrade price is $199 through Verizon. I've seen some places like Wal-mart advertise the upgrade price as $149. HOWEVER, this Friday (Black Friday) Best Buy is offering a $1 upgrade price on that phone.

What do you think the chance are of them letting me upgrade 3 weeks early? Waiting for the phone isn't really the issue - been waiting for over a year and another 3 weeks isn't going to kill me. The real downer in this situation is the fact of paying $150-200 a few weeks later because this promotion wasn't available.

Anyways, just figured I'd ask. Thanks :).

It's not best buy's decision, it's Verizon's. Call 'em up and see what they have to say. For two weeks I'm pretty sure they'll give you the go-ahead.

Just so you know of the additional options:

Amazon's upgrade price is $29.99 today, with free shipping.

However, a 6-month Amazon commitment and $250 ETF applies (in addition to the Verizon contract ETF).

I'd be careful, OP. Sounds like you got burned with a contract on a phone you hated the last time around. With the Fascinate getting hit by the same negatives as other Galaxy S phones, I'd be wary about signing another 2 year contract, that goes double because of Samsung's lackluster support.

For the record, I agree with Bateluer re: Samsung.

Be sure you research before buying!
