Best buy returns ? ¿½¼ô?

TallBill

Lifer
I bought some klipisch 2.1's at Best Buy last week. But, now i need my money back, and i want to get a cheaper set of speakers. Will Best Buy take the return without questions asked? Or is "to much money" a good enough reason? Or should i make up a lie and say they hissed a bit, and didnt work to great with my surround sound.. just baffle the people. ? any input? and yes i still have the receipt.

Well they cant be a gift.. cuz they are out of the package.. and the lil rubber feet are on 🙂 I'll just say they hissed. Which.. they did a tiny bit. It never bothered me, and i loved the speakers... but 200 bucks! Yikes. I'll go for a 70-100 dollar pair and probably be just about as happy.

You would be cheating them and your pissed they may not like it? I agree say they hissed although sometimes they test them.

Tell them you dont want them, you have the receipt. Depending on how long youve had them theres not much they can say or do besides give you your money back.

How is he cheating them? They have a return policy for a reason, if they didnt want people returning stuff they would offer to do so.
Follow the rules they setup, its not cheating them!

No dude, tell them that they are not worth the $200 you spent man. Because the may test them for the hissing.

hehehe, trust me, keep them..you'll never be as happy with a 70-100 dollar pair of speakers as you will with your 2.1 Klipsch. The sub hits unbelievably hard for a 200 dollar pair of speakers. good luck trying to find that with a 100 dollar pair =)

Don't bother making up a reason. A valid or agreeable reason isn't a prerequisite for returns and refunds. As long as you have the receipt, it's within the return period, and you have the item in resalable condition (no missing manuals, ripped boxes, etc.), you can simply say "I don't like it" or "I want to get something else".

If the CSR has a bad attitude, I usually say "do I need a reason to return this?" And he/she usually replies "well.. no.. please fill this out and sign here". 🙂

Don't lie. You don't have to and it is not a good habit.
They simply did not meet your expectations for $200.

No reason to lie... if you don't like them, just say so. If they're too much for you, so what, they're too much. You're not satisfied with the price, so you don't want them anymore. Plain and simple 🙂.

I promise, BB won't give you the runaround.

They'll test them if you say they're defective. You've got the receipt and it's only been a week. Say you need to exchange them. BB's pretty good to me when they figure out I'm not trying to cheat them. Return policies used to be so much easier at any stores, but punk-asses and criminals started to try to take advantage of them.

One thing I've learned that makes my life easier: I usually pay with CASH-MONEY at Best Buy (or any store, for that matter). IF I need to return or exchange something, they give me CASH back, instead of issuing store credit or making me wait for a check. Oh, and don't wait too long. They're so much nicer about it if I go back within 1-2 days than 30.
