Best Buy really pissed me off this time

I brought my laptop in on July 4th for service since it kept randomly shutting down. The service tech asked me I could do without the computer for 1.5 weeks. I told him that was not a problem, but guess what. Over two weeks now and now computer. Someone is getting an earful when I get there.

You don't get worse than CompUSA.

They've had my digital camera for a week and it JUST got the "approvals" it needed to be shipped to get fixed. the hell is that?

you shouldn't have told him that you could do without your computer for 1.5 weeks. Now you have to wait an extra amount of time. Next time, tell them straight forward that you need the computer fixed...NOW or within 24 hours :D

It needed a mobo replacement. No way those guys are doing it at my local BB. They ship everything out for service.

i went there Saturday to get Star Wars KOTOR

I ask the guy if they have it

he says they dont have it

sold out he says

i ask him to check the computer

there are 24 copies

so he calls someone from the back

she says its in boxes in the back and it is waiting to be priced

she said it would take her an hour and there is just know way they will be able to get it

then she proceeds to ask me, "You are not disappointed are you?"

WTF kind of CSR asks if a customer is disappointed when Best Buy is being so dumb. And I said I was.

Stupid best buy and I would go somewhere else but I have a whole bunch of best buy credit i have to use.

Anyway isnt it against some kind of rule if some item is supposed to be released and they don't have it like a violation of some agreement between best buy and lucas arts or something

Imagine if it was PS2 launch day and they just said uhh they are in the back and we aren't going to get them out because we are lazy fvcks and haven't put it out even though it was supposed
to be displayed a week ago.

there's nothing that they can do. we do ship stuff out, and we cannot control how long it takes. heres what will happen:

you'll come in with some attitude, and get no help at all.

it's possible to call the service center, so go in there, get the # for the service center, call them with your service tag # ready and ask when you'll get it.



Also, they might have had to order the parts, which is 99% the reason it's taking so long.

I remember a rich guy (drove a jaguar roadster or something) and he needed his laptop fixed for business use. He went into compusa and got so pissed that he smashed his laptop on the floor in a million pieces.

"FVCK YOU GUYS, CAN YOU GUYS DO ANYTHING RIGHT?"

He stormed out of there right after.

It was a nice laptop too.

"Was" is the operative term...

Getting po'd and yelling isn't gonna do any good, and will probably hurt you. Just do as someone suggested and get the service center #. Then call and say you have a plane trip or something and see if it can be expedited, or a loaner provided.

two weeks sucks, but my water boiler has been at a krups authorized repair dealer for a MONTH and they havent done anything to it. they told me that it needs to be shipped to krups to be repaired as they cant do it. they admit that they havent done anything to it and that it is just waiting to be shipped but wont even make an excuse as to why. the funny part is, the company is called "Speedy Appliance". the dumb part is the broken part is a 1/4 inch wide rubber plug. Morons, all of them.

Call the store and ask where your laptop is.

pfffttt... My Fuji camera has been at the Fuji Repair Center for 11 weeks. They freakin take forever just to repair a $300 camera.:|

maybe someone shouldnt come in with attitude. but, being a tech, you know the importance of giving someone FULL and CLEAR information about thier machine. maybe 1.5 was a little vague...but did the person who took the computer explain that it needs to be shipped away at the time, that 1.5 would be the best turnover rate, etc?

I will have no problem going into best buy with an attitude. I know almost all of the district managers as I have worked for them before. If you tell me that I will have my laptop back in 1.5 weeks, I give you 2. Beyond that you have not held up your end of the deal.

What kind of laptop was it?

I have a Sony VAIO laptop, about a year old... I had to take it in (edit: to bestbuy) for a motherboard replacement, I got it back 1 1/2 months later.
