If you missed out on the Visioneer scanner here's one pretty cheap:

Scanport 3000 600X1200 minimum 10 per store. no rainchecks. $49.99 less $30 MIR = $19.99

or

Lexmark Z13 minimum 3 per store(Wow could they have less and still advertise? :disgust: )
$49.99 less $30 MIR

Yeah, what a joke! 3 per store, who are they trying to kid? I can see all those cold, tired people lined up 2 hours before they open hoping to be 1 of the 3 that gets one. All the stores seem to be cutting back on the good deals this year. Last year stores like Compusa had free after MIR things like : 64 MB PC133 PNY memory ( 2 sticks ), under monitor surge protectors, etc. This year they only offered one piece of 64 MB PC100. Come on, does anybody out there even use PC100 anymore? I guess the economy really is as bad as the media says.

I hope this doesn't come across as a thread crap, I'm loving the deal as posted, but have seen there *could* be issues with WinXP and this unit. I say this because in looking for info on this unit, I've came across a couple of web boards with people claiming that they can't get this unit to work under XP. (Here is an example.)

Caveat Emptor.
Thanks for the deal allisolm!

I certainly don't see it as a thread crap. You're giving information about systems this might not work with. I don't have XP, but, if I did, I would be grateful for information like this about any product.🙂

At $19.99 for a Lexmark Z13 printer you can rest assured they won't have any more than 3! After all, their in business to make a profit.

I got this around xmas time when it was the same offer, the rebate is through already.

It's not a bad printer, works quite well, but you only get a color cartridge, and only one cartridge can be used at a time

Just FYI for anyone looking at the scanner...I just bought the unit, took it home, and plugged it into my PC (Win XP Pro), WITHOUT INSTALLING THE SUPPLIED DRIVERS. Windows recognized it as a Visioneer 4800, and it works like a charm. Y'know, if all else fails, test installation before cutting out SKU/filling out rebate forms, & take it back if it doesn't work for you.
