Best Buy prices now OUTRAGEOUSLY bad?

I have been to Best Buy a few times times in the last couple weeks, and I have noticed their prices seem to be extremely bad lately.

I know they have not been low-price leaders for some time, but their prices on SanDisk SD cards, toner, etc are now stratospheric.

Also, their Black Friday ads (as well as most Black Friday ads) suck.

Economy? Or what gives?

This. I know people who are already camping out for BF. I just don't know why .. none of the deals look good enough to spend 15 hours outside. I just don't see it.

Their prices on flash memory has always been ridiculous. But like most comparable stores, prices fluctuate depending on the item.
Best Guy is great for certain things. I pay attention to sales, mostly. You'll find things cheaper at Best Buy than you would at Fry's or Amazon sometimes. And they're pretty good with price-matching any B&M.

No need to knock them if you aren't trying to price match or take advantage of the bargains.

I agree that their BF deals suck this year, like everywhere else. I haven't seen details of which BDs will be on sale, so I may try to wander in some time during the day and see what I can find.

A 500GB Seagate hard drive (not the external enclosure type) at NewEgg is/was $65. Circuit City was asking $130 for the same thing.

BestBuy serves its purpose. They're great for seeing/touching things that you intend to buy online.

With pricematching on the big stuff (TVs, receivers, etc.) they have always been extremely price competitive for me, & their near constant 0% financing definitely swings things in their favor. Anything in between the small stuff (CD's and the like) and the big stuff I just order online.

Viper GTS

On computer stuff BB has always been really bad. The only time you can find a good computer deal there is on the YMMV closeouts. I got a killer deal on a video card there about a year ago, but that's been about it.

None of the deals anywhere even look good enough to stay up late and order online! 🙁

I use BB exclusively for pricematching.

If I spend more $ for gas than I get in a PM, I'll do it.

A few more months and maybe the extended warranty selling drones will be looking for jobs 🙂

But... But... they have a pretty sign over the door...!

PS. And I like being treated as if Im escaping a prison camp, as I leave the store.

BB is pretty much worthless unless they have a particularly good sale or clearance going on some random item. CC is just worthless.

I wouldn't go into either store without a specific sale or PM deal in mind, otherwise don't forget to bring the vaseline.

I've made so much money buying clearance items from BB and reselling it. The sales BB does does have its moments though. I'm a Silver member now.
