The fact that they need extra security is endemic of your ridiculous culture. That people value cheap bluray players ahead of the lives of the shop workers they're trampling is unthinkable. You shouldn't need extra security to show people what basic manners look like.

well all of that may be true, at least we don't fuck sheep.

Meijer was supposedly going to have the Kinect and 3 game bundle for $100 starting at 6 AM today and my wife was considering going. Amazon had the same bundle for $125 and I told my wife she would be nuts to get up and go over there and stand in line for $25. She disagreed with me, but I noticed it is 10 AM and she is still in bed.

EDIT: Down to $100 on Amazon today.

what??

not seeing it...

Oh, that's just for the Kinect. I thought this was for Xbox + Kinect. Toys R Us, Sams, and Amazon, I now see, are diong the console + Kinect for $200.

shit, I was 10 seconds away from buying 2. :(

Looks like they have their own lines to worry about over there:

Yes, just the Kinect. I already have the Xbox. Looks like many vendors are putting it on sale for $100 (Newegg is advertising them for $100 as well).

EDIT: This doesn't include the Kinect but is an excellent price since it has a hard drive and some games:

Almost as stupid as people going to soccer games just to engage in massive brawls?, feel free never to come here, we don't even want your electrons here. Local Best Buy already has a line, they are offering a "42 Sharp LCD for $199, that's sweet but I would never spend thanksgiving day in a line, LOL..

Shit... really? I would totally stand in a line for that!

<--From ripoff britain, 42" LCD = £99999999

If you can get a steal on a TV or what have you without waiting in line for 8 hours (let alone DAYS) more power to you. But waiting in line for that long to save even a couple hundred bucks isn't worth it. You'd be better off with a job making money during that time. If you don't have a job, maybe you shouldn't be using your time waiting in line to buy more crap you probably can't afford.. you know since you don't have a job.

Maybe there should be a movement to hire OWS people to wait in line for people with jobs.

Anyone know how they regulate the line? I would think the other people in line would have to do the supervising. Do they need to be there every single minute to keep their place? I imagine there would be a fight if the first person in line allowed his friend/family in just before the opening. If they give out tickets early, what's preventing people from leaving and coming back?

Isn't Walmart price matching everything in the store from now through xmas anyway?

There is no reason to wait in line on BF.

"Come get last years TV that is already obsolete for less!"

You suck at economics.

- Price War -

You will fuck things up if you deliberately go way above MSRP.

Not to mention nearly all the items that are Black Friday draws are loss leaders. They want as many people in the store buying other stuff at MSRP or above, too.

Me too. I have bought about 80% of my Christmas gifts so far and only one (a replacement LCD screen for a laptop) was not purchased on Amazon. I anticipate the remaining 20% will all be from Amazon.

Most of those features that make TVs "obsolete" are just fabricated to sell more TVs, not really give people features that they'll actually use. For all those fancy features on new TVs most people just connect their cable or antenna and maybe something like a game system or bluray/DVD without ever using those other features. For the vast majority of the population it makes no difference whether its this year's model with those extra features (which are never used) or last year's "obsolete" model without them. Why shouldn't they get an older model if it does everything they want but at a much lower price?

It's not that simple, price matching means regularly stocked items not BF deals, go to Walmart and tell them you want a "42 LCD for $200 to match what BB is doing and see how you fare, good luck..

If you can't find a job then waiting in line for 36 hrs for $150 is a job, your doing the dirty work in the parking lot and getting compensated for it, bird in the hand, you know?. I once worked as a "mock juror" for $100, law firm considering a huge lawsuit against a big Co. wanted a "feel" as to how a jury might view it. $100 for the day and free lunch catered by Marriot..

That 42" Sharp HDTV is a pretty sweet deal for $200 but not worth waiting in line for days.

Only thing I think I'm going to get at a B&M store is a Garmin 410 GPS HRM at Costco but I'll wait til Sat/Sun to buy it.

You could very well be right, or you could be from some little pissant country with a bad case of penis envy.
