whew... i took a chance and mailed only the rebate receipt instead of the pricematch receipt. 🙂 looks like it will payoff... hopefully. heh

<< My rebate status says approved but still haven't reveived it. It even says the estimated check mail out is 2/3/02. It's almost end of february. Has anyone gotten their $50 rebate for this yet?? >>

Yep, I got mine a couple of weeks ago but only because I called. They said mine wasn't scheduled to ship for another month and I told them it had already been over 8 weeks. So they shipped the next day and I received it three days after that.

Call the phone number that's on the rebate form.

Thanks for the tip. Glad that it sounds like my call is actually gonna get somethin done. Still, what these rebate companies CONSTANTLY try to pull on us it total BS. I almost wish there was a government agency that watched over rebates. Yes, I know that would be impractical and would probably cost all kinds of money to run, but I'd venture a guess that rebates are the #1 source of fraud committed by companies (excluding accounting stuff like Enron which probably goes on to a smaller degree in every major company in the world). These companies COUNT on you to either a) never send in the rebate b) send in something even SLIGHTLY off so they can deny your rebate...Hey, it looks like you sent your rebate out with one of those Elvis stamps...I'm sorry I don't like Elvis, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to deny your rebate or c) Completely forget about the rebate altogether so that you aren't disappointed when you don't get it

Personally I think the whole rebate system is so corrupt it's ridiculous. Companies like Microsoft are the exception rather than the rule when it comes to rebates. Most only give the rebates to people who remember about them (not to mention that you better have written the rebate's phone # down before u send the form in) and take the time to call. And even then you have to wait on the phone for a 1/2 hour. They just try as hard as they possibly can to get you to give up. I'll bet that crap music you have to listen to on the phone while you wait even has subliminal messages in it..."C'mon already...just give up. You know you aren't going to get this thing so why don't you just let it go...you have never heard of a place called the Better Business Bureau, it does not exist."

Rebates suck, but 70% of the REALLY good deals have some sort of rebate involved. So you're either screwed out of your money, or screwed out of a POSSIBLE good deal. Oh well I know I'm rambling but this whole thing pisses me off. Can you tell!?

Would someone happen to have the number? i lost my copy of the rebate form and i want to call.

I pre-purchased the Ti-200. Took it into BB on Black Friday, they adjusted the price and printed out the rebate and the receipt. I sent it in late in Dec. but within the time required. I called BB rebate number in Jan. to check. BB referred me to the manufacturer ( number of which I have forgotten) Spoke to Visiontek rebate center, they acknowledged my submission and stated they would send out the check (or it was at least scheduled for printing) on April 4th.

My rebate isn't even on the site! Neither is the one for the 60GB Western Digital HDD. Looks like I got SCREWED. All that wasted time and rushing in the store! I got my CDRW rebates a long time ago though, and I put them all in the mail at the same time...

>>>The Compusa rebates go to New Rochelle, NY........ They are the biggest scam, it will take 6 months to get your rebate, thats if they don't lose it, or claim that they sent your check out, and you should already recived it.<<<

I've done a bunch of CompUSA rebates; I believe the longest I have ever waited for one of their rebates is about 11-12 weeks or so, which is reasonable. I follow the rules, make sure everything is done to the letter, and I follow-up on my rebates without procrastination or unnecessary waiting to see what happens...I have never had a rejection, loss of submission (I don't use Certified mail or anything special), or any serious issues with TCA, and right now, they're a heck of a lot better than Staples/Parago.

<< Virtualman,I just checked my rebate status and ditto for me too.I am going to call their contact telephone number tomorrow and complain bigtime.I was clearly told by the Best Buy CSA at the store that the pricematch documents would be fine for the rebate.I will get my $50 one way or the other I guarantee you😉.PM me and we can share info. >>

I checked mine and it went though. I just did a pricematch and sent the pricematch receipt in. My rebate wil be mailed March 24th (not exactly 6-8 weeks like the form said, but oh well).

<< Once again, I laugh at you guys who bought the card before the sale and can't get the rebate. It serves you right for trying to evade the long lines and hassel that the people getting this card on the sale date had to endure. >>

Worked for me 🙂 Nah nah!!!!!

Well that's what you slackers get for going in early and trying to get all the deals before me and the rest of the people sat in line and got them legitimately.

Manb

ditto that Manb, looks like you guys got your comeuppance. i was in line at 5 am and didn't get sh*t. glad to see the people who screwed me got screwed.

All 3 of my HDD $50 rebates have been received already, and all 3 of my GF3 rebates are on their way, thankfully. All were purchased beforehand and then PM'd that Friday.

Good luck to others.

Aaron

yodayoda, you are a golden member and you are saying stuff like that ? I would think by now you would understand hot deals. They do not entail standing in line with the unwashed. They involve checking the forums with religious zeal. They involve jumping into your car and driving to the nearest chain mall at a moments notice. They involve pushing the limits of customer servce.

Sometimes I think I should feel bad for taking advantage of good customer service. In other countries you could never pull this kind of stuff.
