ello folks

remember there was a very big crowd thousands of mesages about black friday sale on best buy.
I got GeForce3 Ti200 before the sale and I did pricematch it during the sale day. I sent all necessary documents
(upc, original receipt, pricematch receipt and rebate form) to the rebate center.
After 8 weeks alter, I findout that my rebate request has been denied for the following reason
The reason is:

ORIGINAL PURCHASE NOT DURING REBATE PERIOD

PCHSED 11/21/01--VALID DATES: 11/23/01-11/24/01-

I called best buy rebate center but they are not helpfull either.

is there any pro to help me in this issue? what can I do?

is it my $50 rebate gone, am I decieved?

Virtualman,I just checked my rebate status and ditto for me too.I am going to call their contact telephone number tomorrow and complain bigtime.I was clearly told by the Best Buy CSA at the store that the pricematch documents would be fine for the rebate.I will get my $50 one way or the other I guarantee you;).PM me and we can share info.

Before this gets locked...

I've had a lot of trouble with rebates from TCA rebates in New Rochelle NY.
Call TCA, but don't waste too much time with them, all of the posts I've seen on the net indicate they have not granted ANY of these Visiontek rebates. Best Buy corporate will make good if you provide some docuentation.
I am still waiting on 2 Ti200 rebates and have sent letters to the following people.
If this doesn't work, definitely file a web complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Your mistake was sending in the original receipt with the earlier date. You should have only sent the pricematch receipt, which had the correct date for the rebate.

Check it out: Anandtech has a rebate tracking thread for posts like this one click here

Well , This sure helps me decide about the Buy.com GeForce3 Ti200 deal. I just dont feel like
hassling with a $50 rebate. If only all of them went as well as Microsoft rebates. In before the lock :)

Once again, I laugh at you guys who bought the card before the sale and can't get the rebate. It serves you right for trying to evade the long lines and hassel that the people getting this card on the sale date had to endure.

:) Laughing :) right back at you Caveman :) I bought my Ti200 a week before the sale, and strolled in long after the store opened on Black Friday...got right onto the customer service line, got my 3 pricematches and left the store happy. Received my Ti200 rebates long ago without any hassles, and all of my other Black Friday rebates have been banked as well.

:) :)

My rebate status says approved but still haven't reveived it. It even says the estimated check mail out is 2/3/02. It's almost end of february. Has anyone gotten their $50 rebate for this yet??

I can clearly recall the week leading up to this black friday sale. Those who risked the pricematching method were warned PLENTY of times!! There were too many risk factors in not getting approved. Who ulitimately cares about what ANY best buy employee said at the time.... it's all up to the rebate center whether you get it or not.

Nothing to laugh at me for. You got your rebates, that's great. But if you didn't, you deserved it. For those of you who didn't, too bad so sad.

For what it's worth I also did the pricematch and mine was approved (but not being mailed until late March). My g/f actually the pm for me since I was out of town, but basically she returned it and then bought it again right away for the lower price. I therefore didn't have an older receipt like you seem to have had. Sorry to hear about the bad luck. I'd fight it if I were you Virtualman, but I'm a newbie to rebates and possibly ignorant.

Good luck.

Boy, you're sort of a self-righteous little prick, aren't you. Just because some people were smart enough to go in there and buy before the sale, you don't want them to get their rebates. There was nothing wrong or even immoral about what they did. Best Buy clearly has a 30 day pricematch guarantee, even with their own products. They choose to offer this (because they probably know otherwise people will just return the item and rebuy if it's in stock), and they have no clause in the description about the after Thanksgiving sale. So clearly, you are angry just because those people were smarter than you.

With that attitude Caveman I don't think you should even be on this "Hot Deal" forum. The whole idea here is finding out about hot deals, whenever and however it might be, and then acting on them if you'd like. Why don't you just buy everything blind like the other 95% of the population. And if standing in long lines gets your rocks off when you don't have to, more power to you. I'd prefer not to.

<< Like I said,I will get my $50 one way or the other;) I have no fear. >>

By the way, all of my rebates have been "approved", but according to the date, they will be over a month late. I'm still calling to complain and hopefully have it expedited. After all, 6-8 weeks is long enough, and it's the "deal" I agreed to. We don't have to take this crap.

The Compusa rebates go to New Rochelle, NY........ They are the biggest scam, it will take 6 months to get your rebate, thats if they don't lose it, or claim that they sent your check out, and you should already recived it.

I don't know why everyone was so pissed at those who pre-bought the card. The card was a three-day(two-day?) sale item, not the 8-12 door stopper special.

Anyways, mine's approved, but I don't get it till 4/2/02. I bought the card on wednesday, came back on sunday. The cashier first did a price match, then I asked if I could return and rebuy. The return/rebuy was on the same receipt.

Good luck, I'd go to best buy if you get no love with TCA.

And I hope all you bitching didn't jump on the geforce 4 price error.

I am also laughing back at Caveman2001 for being one of the poor sods that were in line for hours and didn't get one.
Sounds like sour grapes because he didn't/couldn't get a card!

virtualman - Go to Best Buy with your copies and demand your rightful rebate. Show that you were refused, and you will get your $50 directly from them. There is no reason not to get it. Many of us did exactly as you did and recieved our rebates. The only differences I see is some of us "strolled in" for the pricematch, and personally, I distinctly remember "waltzing" in. No, I think I "sauntered" in and waltzed out.
