Best Buy continually listens to our customers, and they told us they want to give confidently this holiday season and every other day of the year — and with that comes easier returns. Effective Saturday, December 18, Best Buy is improving its return policy by removing restocking fees for all products except special orders. Customers can visit BestBuy.com for further information.

Yep, people like the lady in this thread can't wait to start taking advantage of this generous policy. I predict a sharp increase in sales of HDTVs before the Super Bowl this year, followed by record amounts of people returning used TVs in February.

I was in line at Walmart once, and a guy was trying to return an old, worn out flashlight without any packaging or receipt 🙄
 
I have no problem with their restocking fee's, hell they should be higher. I hate it when people take advantage of return policies, restocking fee's prevent people from renting stuff.
 
Yay! Now I can "borrow" a big screen TV for the Super Bowl, and return it the next day!

I'm with vi_edit... they'll repeal this due to customer abuse within weeks.

Actually, the prices are generally cheaper than other places around, and coupled with that, we usually give you things for free with purchases. Employees is a store to store employee to employee thing. The price match policy is fine...even us employees price match and as long as they can verify, my managers do it willingly as long as we don't lose (lots) of money.
 
Best Buy sucks. I'm pretty sure there is a loophole for them. You could buy a laptop and return it and even if you bought it in store I bet they'd say it's a special order item or some bullshit. I quit even going in there because the prices are so outrageous. It amazes me people still shop there at all. I guess I value my money more than most people. I have a Best Buy within 2 miles of my house but I'd rather drive 20 minutes to the nearest Fry's and save $600 on a tv.

We can only hope. If Best Buy went under Wal Mart would have to fill the void for a B&M high end electronics retailer. Wal Mart is far more reasonable and would drive prices down. If you can't tell I don't like Best Buy.
 
Why would you go to the devil's store if BB went out of business? There is still online and Costo which beats the hell out of *M.

I am pretty sure they didn't have a restocking fee on TVs anyway. I know Circuit City didn't. After the Super Bowl was always a great time to shop because of all the 'lightly used' tvs available

I think it's a bad idea because it will be abused but I think they at least have some idea of what they are getting into

Yeah where else can you get a Sata cable as cheap as $17 other than Best Buy??:whiste:

Cracks me up when I see someone trying to sell a BB GC at a 10% discount. Even at a 10% discount any item you buy is gpoing to be more expensive than at places like MC or NE
 
i can't stand best buy, but they only charged a restocking fee on open items. If it is not open, they will just give you your money back. Restocking fees are there to prevent free rentals.

lol! Are you talking about the "free" PS3 you get when you purchase a $2500 LCD tv? I could buy the same TV and a ps3, xbox 360, wii and still have leftover cash if i bought it somewhere else.

Antivirus and tech support with computers. I don't work in other departments.
And no, you couldn't. I hated BB until I actually worked there too, thought their prices were high, etc. etc. They are actually very decent, and I've been spoiled with actually having to help customers so much that I now hate places like Walmart (like I didn't before) where the employees might as well just spit at your feet.
