Is there an age limit to be a BB employee? I'm thinking of working there one of these summers (2006 or 2007)

I thought it was 15½ in CA

I guess that's just the driving permit.

you forgot that they also figure in the operating costs or pack. That is usually figured at around 10%. So BB employess pay cost*10%*5%.

If BB is anything like Staples, they won't hire you unless you're 18. I applied to Staples when I was 17. The manager liked me, but corporate wouldn't yield. Meh. Such is life.

you have no idea what true cost is. Every retail place on earth has some kind of pack.

For proof, smart BB employees buy their big purchases at my store. We can beat their employee discount and still make money.

And yes, I do have proof.

Consider yourself lucky, RS employees get 30% off on RS brand products, 10% on third party products (basically everything).

that's correct, they do add other costs to the "cost" price and then add the 5 percent. so they essentially settle on making a 5 percent profit off their employees...

oh, and up here in Canada it's 10 percent above cost instead of 5.

that happend to me after i tried to re-apply at my old job, which was blockbuster. The store manager fought for me to get re-hired for the summer cuz she liked me and i was a good employee. that job was awesome.

That's probably because of local labor laws. If they break them and the state finds out, the employer gets smacked with a HUGE fine.

I feel sorry for BB employees. After personally knowing several people that work there, not to mention some best friends, they can vouch that the things people talk about at http://www.bestbuysux.org are very true in every way. They will milk you till you die.

A woman in a local branch in my area brought in the biggest numbers the company has ever seen for the last fiscal year. The following year, she didn't bring in as much, but still proportionately better than what they have been doing overall, and they downsize her to a far lower position.

Best Buy can go to hell along with spammers.
