Sometimes you need parts yesterday, and BestBuy is the easiest place to get them. There isn't much in the way of big computer stores around here, and the small shops are close in price to BestBuy. Aside from that, you can score some good deals at BestBuy, but they're usually fleeting.

while BB is not the first place i would look to for computer parts its not a bad place when they have deals.

i got a nice laser printer last month. same printer was $30 more at new-egg and i didn't have to pay shipping.

I only go into Best Buy now and then to look around. Never to buy, unless the price of what I am seeking is very good. In my view, they are always the highest around. Agree about Microcenter (we have 1 in Paterson, NJ) or Frys (not sure if they are in NJ)

Oh, heck, yes.

And generally, Newegg >> Frys/Microcenter >>>>>>>......>>>> BestBuy, but coupons, and the timeframe you need the items in, can make a difference.

I'll grant you Newegg has a more extensive selection of motherboards and memory than either place, and sometimes current video cards, since the two MicroCenters in ATL will pricematch Newegg for anything they carry, I still prefer to buy from Microcenter.

Fry's.....not so much. Fry's sales are good, but again outside the cpu/mobo combos, MC will pricematch anything Fry's has, too.

And you don't have to put up with the rather poor cust. service from Fry's, either.

Frys/Microcenter >>>>>>....>>>>>> BestBuy

I went to Microcenter to get the ddr3 cpu/mobo, but all they had was shit OCZ 2x2GB which is not what I was looking for.

Microcenter is the best local place whilst Newegg is the best online IMO. BTW I hate best buy, horrible service, prices, selection, etc. I was just venting. I was kinda of appalled the geek squad guy didn't even know what DDR3 was.

Dance Dance Revolution 3??? That's out?!?!?!
