Best Buy doesn't sell DDR3 in store?!?!?!

Of course they don't.

DDR3 came out for the PS on June 1, 2000.

um.

you were looking for Dance Dance Revolution 3 right?
right??

If they had it, it'd be $200 for a 2GB stick.

If they had it, it'd also confuse people. They probably don't carry it just for the fact that it'd confuse everyone. DDR and DDR2 is already too much for everyone out there.

Best Buy for computer components?! FAIL

For individual components/parts you always go to either a smaller ma and pa type computer shop or chain that specializes in hardware alone. Here I'd recommend NCIX (yes I do work there) but there are lots of other good alternatives.

Just to do a combo breaker...

PNY - Optima 2-Pack 4GB PC3-10666 DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory Kit
Model: MD4096KD3-1333 | SKU: 9809271

Is available to me locally at Best Buy 😛

BB has awesome sale prices, in December I got a 1TB drive for $10 cheaper than Newegg and didn't have to wait for shipping. I got my printer for $25 cheaper and didn't have to wait for shipping. If you hit their sales you can get some good deals, and not having to wait for shipping is always a huge bonus to me. And they often have components that aren't even that old on clearance. I got a Logitech Dinovo Edge there for $59 3 years ago. Today the same KB's $166 + $13 S&H at Newegg. Their clearance prices cannot be beat unless you buy stolen shit. Sure you have to keep your eyes peeled but it's worth it.

Well I'm thinking of Canada as well where things are a bit different and a lot more expensive. I'd never go to a large brick and mortar store to buy parts. We have some damn good sales at NCIX as well, well by Canadian standards anyway. They probably suck by US standards.

😵 Always extolling the virtues of NCIX huh? I suspect you have been brainwashed by your new employers 😀

Hardly. There's a lot I could complain about but well, I want to keep my job for now. But yeah they do have some of the better deals in hardware in Canada.

If I go to NCIX, they'll probably recommend me a mobo and processor that doesn't fit.

my sister in law was telling me all about the wonderful monster cables best buy sold her. i almost cried.

yea while its true that buyer beware, places like bb are just shady and make their business on ripping off people left and right...theres no reason to support their business at all if you can help it. eventually bb will rip off someone you know after all.
