Sony has increased production of the PS2's. All orders are filled until like March. I guess they doubled production (so now their making TWO dozen a week ). This could work to our advantage. They might make too many, and by the time XBox comes out, there will be a big glut in the market (meaning $$$$$$$$ discounts).

Mine just died after a year or so, had a proview px-982 19" that literally blew up in my face! Sent it back but don't hold too much hope on their warranty stuff! Think it's time to lick my wounds and get on with life.

I have the similar model accusync 19" and my friend has the multisync95 19".
It is a pretty decent monitor and a warm deal. But I think you can get a better trintron monitor for the same price.

I agree, its time to lift the PS2 ban here. I could understand it before Christmas when there were people scaming them, but it doesn't make any sense to do it now.

It was being used by my daughter, and it went BANG, smoked pilled out of the back, and that was that. screen popped and fizzled, so i yanked the power cord from the wall, lucky it did not hurt anyone!!! Scared her half to death, fell of the chair and ran screaming to her bedroom! Wasn't as if it was being used recklessly, she was typing a report for school... in M$ Word no less!!

Was only over a year old, proview said they would take a look, but I'd have to pay shipping to Texas (UPS gave me loads of sh*te! and was gonna charge me $85, cause it was not in it's origonal packaging and they are very picky about shipping computer stuff WITHOUT their origonal packaging...) plus Proview said that I would be liable for parts+labour if they found it to be ANYTHING other than a manufacturing fault...

I cannot win so may just send it back in my leisure (got my RMA no...) when I can ship it for $40, and see if I can hunt for a much better one than the Proview POS!

sony had to probably double production becuase they seen that xbox was not *vaporware* .. stupid sony for trying to create their own hype.. that's what they get.

double it b/c its not vaporware? What is the business rationale to increase production just b/c its real? Do you somehow think that sony would know about the reality of x-box the same time that you and I know about it?

btw, there's a time for everything, and now is the wrong time for these ps2 bans.
Hey, I understand some of the mods are just lemmings, but try to think out of the box and use some common sense in policing for once.

quit getting all huffy about ps2 deals. it is just a game system. if the guy isn't linking to his own homepage and screwing peaple, it's all good. there is no real mystique about the ps2 anymore because I think people are finally realizing that it is just a damn game system with a CRAPPY dvd player in it.

the other deals are OK. are PNY from taiwan or japan? for the price I'm thinkin taiwan.. (note: never ever looked at a pack of pny's till now)

not bad... I'd still like to know what he ps2 deal is. hell, it was prolly in a paper anyway, or on display in a store. it isn't like that was shady or anything, and also it isn't like the info ISN'T public domain. damn... someone needs a valium.
