I was at bestbuy today picking up the sony clie wireless card and was looking at the the Gameboy advance SP and one of the clerks there told me that next week they will be running a special when you buy their six pack game "plastic cube thing" for $120, you get a gameboy advance SP for free.
I don't remember all the games in the bundle but, I'm pretty sure one of them was final fight

Sounds pretty schweet to me.

Edit
I guess it isn't the SP according to trevdiresforu which has the ad, oh well. I guess the best buy employee I talked to was a moron.

If any of you are still interested the pack includes:
dave mirra 3
spy hunter
final fight one
galidor
high heat baseball 03
revenge of shinobi

Someone emailed me the info.

i think this will be highly YMMV and that perhaps the person was just spouting BS,

but I hope that I am wrong :)

Well I was about to buy it and she told me to wait until next week and showed me the cube and everything.
I'll be getting one next week.

I wish I could remember the games in the cube, if anybody knows pls contribute that information to this thread.

more than likely it will be a bunch of first generation games, but that still seems like an extremely good deal.

Wait, I've got it. Are you sure she didn't say you get a free Gameboy Advance? Seems likely that they would want to be moving the old ones out, or at least thinning their inventory some. Considering they're having no problem selling all of their SP's at 100 bucks, why would they go and give you six games for $20 more? ..

Only time will tell!

whoa....this sounds like a great deal!

depending on the games, of course. actually, even if the games are crap and sell them for $10 each....that's $60 for a GBA SP. not bad at all :)

Hi. I saw this at Bestbuy as well. The sticker said the game bundle cost $120. So I don't know if the SP would be free. Why would they make it free if u could buy that game pack for $120?

The pack comes with Defender, Final Fight zero, and a few of no-name games that aren't memorable.

She said that the deal starts next week. My guess is that they wanna get rid of those gamepacks

The lady told me it was the SP but, I guess she could have been mistaken because it would make a heck of a lot more sense for the package to include the old one.

This would be a great deal... But don't count on Defender for the GBA pulling its value; its pitiful... One of the worst games for the GBA...

fyi, u get a lot less for crappy trade in than you'd think... i traded in some of my old ones recently and for Iridion 3-D they gave me ONE dollar... i never played it anyway so $1 is better than $0 but still... its surprising

There is a guy on the forums that has the BB ad already... maybe we should ask him. If they are giving 6 games and an SP for $120, I'll line up. I promised myself I wouldn't pick up an SP, but that is too good of a deal to pass up.

It's also possible, aside from wanting to clear out the old GBA's... that they realize that the SP will sell, and they need a way to clinch being the one to sell it. Chances are that BB came upon the stock of these games at what I would guess is 10 for one bundle. They could easily deal with making 10 dollars extra and be the ones to make the sale on the SP, I bet. But again, it would make a bit more sense for it to be the old GBA. Just saying that it's a possibility.

I guess you are referring to me?

The ads states, "Excludes Game Boy Advance SP."

I traded in my old GBA for an SP at Electronics Boutique. I was a little worried about the internal battery at first but it looks easily replaceable and you can get replacements for like 13 dollars which isnt bad. Battery Life has been very good, the built in light is great, its kind of annoying not to have a built-in headphone jack though. To get headphone jjack you have to buy a little accesory dongle.

There may be an issue with build quality though, the first unit I had came with dust already inside, the one they replaced it with has dust inside already too. I've also read on alt.videogames.gameboy.advance that other people have had to exchange their units several times to get one with no dust and no dead pixels and no hissing speaker. That BB extended warranty might be a good idea on this if it doesnt cost too much.
