I know the 2 girls you are talking about that work at the returns and they deserved to be bitch slapped. I guess I'll follow your lead and see ya at 2 pm. Western Digital 75gb hard drive is actually 80gb

I also just purchased the 75gb WD drive, and sure enough it's an 80gb! I rec'd the same note inside (as KalieMa had stated earlier) stating this box "has more disk space than was listed on the packaging."

This one was also a WD800BB. As a side note, I had recently purchased the WD400BB and inside was another similar note stating I received extra performance for free - in that instance I got a 400JB (8mb cache) in the 400BB box.

I guess the 75gb was vaporware or something, no reference to WD750BBRTL exists on their site or the net (except for the 2 references to the Best Buy sale.)

oh yea, and i got a sweeeet deal on the 48x cdrw drive.... see i was in line and got a ticket for it, but then when i went to redeem the ticket, they were all out, so the guy priced matched thjat drive to the pacific digital 48x CDRW for $9.99 straight up. cant beat that.

so when did you guys go to wait in line? 1:30am here, and we were 5th,6th,7th,8th

I like living in Manhattan.

Showed up at 6:15 am, grabbed a gamecube platinum with metroid prime, friendly service, warm deal. That game is actually exceeding my expectations, maybe because I was expecting it to be a little overhyped. It's just as good as people claim it to be, and I am so glad that I grabbed one.

Of course, I opened the package, and saw a $10 off metroid prime coupon. Woops. Is it possible to, say, buy Metroid Prime again with the coupon, come back with the original receipt from the first copy, and exchange the unopened package of the second copy for another game?

So like, I buy it today for $50. I come back tomorrow, buy it again for $50 - $10 rebate. Go back the next day, with the receipt from copy #1 but with game #2, and ask them for fifa 2003 for example in exchange, say that I changed my mind. That should fly, right?

Well.. I won't be there till 8:00PM.... So.. it will be great if you let me know how it goes... I will check back right before I leave... BTW, I just came up with a great idea. I will bring my Yepp YP-700 and record the conversation with BB folks tonight. It's going to be very interesting... Whether it goes smoothly or not.. I will post it so that you guys can enjoy it!!

Ok.. Got a question for everyone. I just looked at my receipt from BB and noticed that I only got charged $19.99 the other day for the Kingston PC133 256 MB RAM instead of the $89.99. The Black Friday special is for $33.99 - $22 MIR - $7 MIR = $4.99.

Now here's the question.. Would you take the RAM for $20 without rebates or do a return/rebuy on it to pay $14.00 more in order to get it for $15 cheaper in the end after rebates?

BTW.. I already checked the rebates and the receipt must be dated either the 29th or the 30th. I wished that the $22 rebate started a day or two early, then I wouldn't have to make the decision. Oh well.

What would you do?

got there at 5am, line was about 100 people long. they passed out fliers with ticket numbers on them for the hot items. hardly anyone in the front wanted the HD deal so i got that no problem, but they ran out quickly towards the back of the line... by the time i got to the register, i noticed they gave me a 40GB in the hd/ram bundle so i pointed it out to the cashier and she called back to the computer department... they were of course all out of the bundles, so they just took the ram and price matched it to the PAR and brought a 80GB maxtor to the front and pricematched that to the 75GB AR also picked up the lexmark x73 printer/scanner/copier, the cd-rw, and 150 cd-r's

Heh.. Never mind. I just noticed that OD has this same RAM for $38.99 - $19 MIR. I'm going to PM OD for the BB receipt price of $19.99 and get it for a .99¢ plus tax.

Woooohooo!

I showed up at 5:00 a.m to a line of about 50 people, I had expected a line but this one was making me nerous. About 5:35 AM they began distributing the "Door Buster" tickets. I grabbed the one for the hard drive combo as well as the one for the CD-RW. 6AM time to open. I went in swung by the cd-rs, grabbed two packs, hit the DVD deal, and left my sister to watch the goods as I went to rebuy my 4200 for todays price (turns out not neccessary due to relaxed demand, but oh well) so I go to the CSR desk, and tell them I would like to pricematch to todays price as per BB's policy. The csr replied with a smug look on her face "I'm sorry sir we cannot do price matches this weekend." This made me sweat a little bit but I didn't let her show it, instead I cooly replied, "OK I would like a refund then please." I was given the refund to my cc, "On second thought that card looks rather tempting, I believe I will purchase that after all" She scans it and it rings up 149.99 So now I go to pay for everything, the checkout line is wrapped all the way around the store, it took about 1 hour 15 minutes to checkout, I get up there and pay for the DVD player I was getting my father as a christmas present for his upstairs office with cash as my sister and I were splitting the cost. I then go to pay for everything else with my credit card, DENIED comes back. I couldn't understand the problem, I paid off my credit card bill on monday, 3 weeks early to clear up credit. (I came home later and found out that while they have deducted the ammount via EFT from my bank account, the funds are still not available!) Anyhow I had to put the dvd player in my trunk and call my dad to come bail me out! No problem, he comes and pays for everything and we walk out, 4.5 hours after I arrived at the store! Great deals, a bit of a hassle, but all worth it (installing cd-rw, and hdd now, video card and RAM later)

Well I got there and got the hd/ram combo and the 14" mag monitor, but the jerks never gave me an option to get the geforce 4 ticket so I am pretty angry. The other stuff was for my sister's boyfriend and I was there to buy the geforce 4. Sucks that I woke up at 3 AM to wait in line for my sister's boyfriend Anyone wanna sell me their card? Fat chance but I'd appreciate it a lot.

Best Buy in chula vista was pretty crowded. I didn't get the WD drives as I already scored 4 of the Maxtor 120gb drives. Maybe if it had DDR with it instead of pc 133. I grabbed around 10 dvd's and the cheap cdrs. Found it all in five minutes but took me 1 hour to pay.

There was around 20 of the WD combos.

got to BB at 5am.. already gave out all the tickets for the WD drive. could have scored a Emachine w/lcd but decided had too many pcs at home. my bro did get the toshiba laptop for $649.. and was able to snag a 128MB Sandisk CF card.. everyone says it's slow. but i tested it in my Canon A40 and it doesnt seem to lag any compared to my Viking 128MB CF.

I decided to check out BB @ 8am this morning and BOY! was it packed. About 300 people in each checkout line. This was the BB in Ogden, Utah.

I was going to buy 2 DVD's for $20-Jay and Silent Bob and Friday, but I took a look at the lines and decided it isn't worth the wait.

BB had a few good deals, but not worth waiting hours in line for.

Just my opinion.

There were no tickets for the video card bro, it is a friday and saturday sale, it was on the shelves, my store still has some left, check back at yours..

It took me 25 minutes to find a parking space around the Cerritos, CA BB around 7:15 this morning. The foot traffic was crazy. I didn't even get a spot at BB, I had to park at the AT&T building. They're not kidding when they say this is the best selling BB in the nation.

"Only" took me 56 minutes to get my 4200 returned/bought :|

There were no tickets for the video card bro, it is a friday and saturday sale, it was on the shelves, my store still has some left, check back at yours..

The jerks at my store told me it was ticketed and only had 1 on the shelves and the guy who got to best buy at 1:45 got that one. I really wish I could have got one and it makes me mad that I didn't, but I'll get over it.

It took me about 30 minutes to do my return/re-buy. Had no hassle whatsover. Got up at around 10am and drove down to my local BB. I got the BFG running in my main box right now at default speeds and it scored 9452 in 3D Mark with the 40.72 drivers.

Im sorry to hear that a lot of you guys that waited out in the cold didn't end up getting the deals. I don't think thats really fair, but such is life I guess...

...same here...but I just waited 30 mins before opening time. I should have bought this baby 2 days ago, return it today and do a buyback. In short it doesn't pay to be conventional/tradional when trying to get in this limited deals:frown:

Went to Fry's and got all the stuff I wanted...80gig Maxtor, Pinnacle Studio 8, 40x CDRW and PNY gf4 ti4200 with 64 megs....good enough for me.

Ah, but for me, Fry's is at least a 30 mile round trip, maybe 40. My BB is 10-15 minutes away on my bicycle.

Hesse, I went in to Paramus store at 3 pm, only about 4-5 people on line at cs area.
No problem returning/rebuying the video card. The rebate forms printed out.

I just returned and repurchased my card. This was even easier than last year. I probably spent 5 minutes in the store tops. I didn't even take the video card with me, just the receipt. The CSR could give a crap really. She just returned the card and I bought it back, then all the rebates spit out of the register. For all of those who held off buying a card and wanted to try their luck this morning, let this be a lesson to you. Don't play by BB's rules because they don't give a crap about you.

i was 3rd in line and no tickets for geforce4. i was ok cause i was 3rd. walked in only 2 geforce4 got pissed!
so is this sale fri adn sat only or week sale? please tell me week
