The title says it all. I'm looking for something with a 40x write. Please post suggestions.

Thanks.

Had my Lite-On about 2 mnths now. 50+ sucessful burns with no coasters. Can't go wrong there especially at the price. Get a Lite-On and you'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the suggestions... one more question...

Anyone know if the 40x liteon will rip and or burn a safedisk v2 protected CD... for educational purposes only, of course. ;)

Thanks

Try Samsung SW-240, 8 MB Buffer... nice one... or maybe Aopen... 40x sounds interesting but better take a look at the buffer size and DMA-33 support... like LG CD-RW 32x10x40x features a wonderful 8 MB buffer but lack of DMA-33 support...

once you rip the ISO image, any burner will be able to burn it down. The trick is to rip the image appropriately :)

Ya, I know... that's why I'm asking. I'm not sure if it's got the reading capabilities to make the iso.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

I believe what I am referring to is RAW-DAO or the "Raw Mode" any one know if the liteon is capable of handling that?

Indeed it will. In fact there is precious little out there that a Liteon can't copy (other than certain audio cd protections).

BTW: there is nothing wrong with backing up cd's you own. I'm not certain about the USA, but in Australia you have the right to make a copy of a disc for backup purposes.
