Fuck no. Their burgers were actually quite flavorful and cooked well, but the bacon was small dry square-shaped flakes that had the crunch of breakfast cereal. It was so obtrusively cheap I had to remove it from the burger. Literally no better than imitation bacon used in dog treats (yes, I've tried a lot of my dog's food before). I've considered going there again, but I definitely won't waste any money on their worthless bacon.

EDIT: ps I didn't watch the video if that makes a difference.

Makes huge difference.

This is an 'auto tune the news' songify of some big goofy black dude's burger review. It's epic.

Their bacon was probably rendered, which is the way I cook it (and like it). When frying the bacon, you squirt some water on it and let it fry. The water renders the fat from the bacon, leaving mostly meat solids. When the water evaporates it leaves a tasty, light, and crunching strip of bacon.

Not very impressed with Five Guys. I'll take In-n-Out any day over it.

This x1000000000

I had 5 Guys in Washington DC and over here in Cali. It's fine but not great. Bread was always soggy and mushy and it's expensive.

I eat at both places and at least here in Phoenix, the 5 guys is much better in my experience.
In-N-Out was more bland by comparisson with the same setup :(

We just got a Five Guys restaurant recently in my city and I was impressed. Expensive yes, but delicious yes.

There are other places that are expensive and not delicious. That is fail.

5 guys = totally overrated

...yet offer a consistant product that tastes more like a diner burger or home made burger. I've never had an undercooked burger from 5 guys and have gotten many from other burger establishments over the years when they are just trying to get the food out of the kitchen.

IMHO, Fast food has destroyed what burgers used to be because they use thinner patties and are simply more processed/less flavorful. I eat fast food on occasion, but rarely bother with burgers. I typically gravitate toward other choices because I'm never happy with the burger that I get. 5 Guys is one of the few exceptions. (I do live in a market with fewer choices)

exactly. sure 5 guys is overrated. some make way to big a deal out of it. it is also slightly expensive.

But out of the fast food places its one of the best. i get good burgers all the time and they aren't some slim tiny patty either. Also getting a bunch of toppings is great.

it's not something you should eat every day but i get it maybe once every other month.

I took my son last week. the service was sloppy and the burger sucked (i got it to go) and was cold. i called and talked with the manger who made excuse after excuse. finally i hung up and did a web survey and they credited back my money! wooo!
