I just go a new bluray burner and was wondering how it is possible to rip and burn blurays. What is the best free software out there to do it. Thanks!

Cool I found some. I am thinking of using dvdfab to rip them, and then use img burn to burn them or burn aware free. I am going to try them out right now, anyone have any other suggestions?

I don't think this is something that should be discussed on a public forum. It can be an illegal process (rent and copy).

There are free tools you can use to do this, they just don't get the latest updates as quickly.

Dude, "rent and copy" is not the preferred nomenclature. "Personal backup", please.

Preferred? You think it makes a difference what you call it? You are NOT allowed to make backups of stuff you didn't buy and even if you did buy it...grey area much?

I'm gonna call it what it is... illegal.

LOL.

First of all, the OP never mentioned anything about rent and copy. I agree with you that rent and copy is illegal, but let's not presume that's what the OP is doing. There are tons of threads about ripping CDs and they don't cause a stir.

Secondly, I was trying to make a Big Lebowski reference that obviously you didn't get.

I can recomend DVDFAB-blu-ray copy to backup your blu-ray movies.Give the free trial a whirl.:) Also,DVDfab is nice for plugging in whatever burner program you use.I prefer ImgBurn(free) at 4x or so for perfect backups.

There is no grey area. You're within your fair use rights to transfer the information to other media. The media companies would like that to change, and they've paid off enough people to try to make that happen, but so far they've been kept at bay.

As for the potential to do something illegal... If that's the standard, then they might as well shut down Anandtech. A computer is pure crime machine, that can be used to intrude on networks, violate ip rights, and literally cause physical harm to people....
