Immersion/stick blenders are going to be easier, yeah. Plus they are handy for tons of cooking recipes! :)

I think the Magic Bullet is great for making shakes quickly and easily, but you can't exactly make a BIG shake. You're a big guy (I think), so this might be a limiting factor.

depends on what you're blending. What's going in your shake? If it's just protein powder/milk/water/egg, the blender bottle has worked really well for me (amazon/slickdeals for possible deals). If fruit/peanut butter, then you would need an actual blender.

I personally use a cheap blender and it's been going strong for 5 years now. Trick is to blend the protein powder with milk/juice for a sec or two then add ice and/or other stuff (not all at one time). I do the shake and take with medium sized gatorade bottles

Blender Bottle rocks for mixing powders and liquid, much better than some of the other mixer bottle's i've seen with the weird criss-cross thing on top and the spiral thing going down into the bottle. I also have a Hamilton Beach single serve blender where the glass it is blended in is actually a blend and go bottle. It's pretty slick.

I've never had a problem with shaker bottles and clumping/sticking. Not sure why you need a blender, unless the powder you're using just really sucks. Even the blender bottles work fine.

The only time it ever clumps/sticks is if the bottle is still wet when you dump the powder in, if you dump the powder in after you fill it with liquid, or if you wait longer than a few minutes to shake it when you have both the powder and liquid in there. Any of those 3 scenarios results in clumps/sticking to the bottle, at least in my experience. Using a dry shaker, putting the powder in first, and immediately shaking after adding liquid results in a smooth protein shake for me. :)

I think you might be able to find it at Vitamin Shoppe? I know that the first place I saw it around here was a local supplements chain.

I bought one of those after my last 3 blenders broke. It's one of the few things I've ever really splurged on. And I can say, it was TOTALLY worth the investment! I can throw a frozen banana in with my protein shake and it will completely liquify it.

It's amazing

My favorite shaker bottle is the BodyBuilding.com model: (only $1.99 each!)

They recently upgraded it, the new design is really nice - the screw-on lid is super-spillproof now. Fits in standard cupholders. Has a mesh ring for blending powder by shaking it. It works great, even with my soy protein powder, which is usually a bit hard to mix without a blender.

check fw.com, I think iherb.com had it for ~$2 after coupon (not sure if deal is still valid and fw is blocked at work here). I bought on amazon for $8, then saw that deal and forwarded to my brother who picked it up.

edit: in re blender bottle
