Best Bang for the Buck component in your rig?

Although most of the time the supposed high tech wonder gizmo's I buy are vastly overated and overpriced for the performance, occasionall I get a gem.

The best bang for the buck component I have EVER purchased is my little XP1700+ B.
Cost me a mere $50 and this baby runs 24/7 @ XP2600+ speeds on air with no volt increase and super LOW temps (38c). Absolutely the jewel of my entire rig! (Next up would be my Ti4400).

What's the best bang for the buck part of your system?

You'll all laugh but probably the Geforce 4 MX in my hot deals Dell computer. It basically comes free with the computer (since it costs the full price to upgrade to a better card). When I do upgrade to another card I can sell it for a few bucks. And it runs every game I've wanted without any problems. I was always going to put in a $150 card, but since this runs everything just fine, I've yet to find a reason to do it. $150+ for some more eye candy isn't worth it.

Philips A3.600 (UK) or the MMS306 (in the US)

100W 5.1 flat panel speakers, got them under £50 including shipping, most places have them for £110 incl shipping.

My Antec KS-282 case for ~$60. It's plain looking by today's standards (I bought it nearly two years ago), but it has been easy to work with, no sharp edges, awesome removable drive cage, and came with an Antec 300W power supply that has been unbelievable. I have the following setup:

Athlon XP 2100 w/ Vantec Aeroflow VA4 C7040
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
512MB Corsair XMS PC2700 DDR CAS2 (1 DIMM)
Gainward Geforce 4 4200 64MB
Audigy 2

I have had zero problems with the 300W power supply; what great quality and what a bargain for $60 case+power supply.

I would have to say my Fong-Kai case I got new for 100 bucks with power supply and replacement black faceplate. The thing is solid, and is a beaute.

EDIT: 100 bucks included the shipping on the item

The four Panaflos I got for 3 bucks each in my Antec SX835II. They don't increase performance or anything but I have to say that I after I tossed out the four hi flow Sunons I had in there and replaced them with whisper quiet Panaflos that I found in an electronics surplus store in Van Nuys, my headaches have gone away. It is incredible how much stress a loud computer can put on a person.

ppl should state the price they paid for the part...it's easy to say the $500 pIII-1GHz was your best bang for buck, but no one else will think so.

Well, if camaeras count, I've owned several other more expensive camaeras but my Canon s200 has seen the most use with nice results and lots of fun. I have many fond memories caught thanks to this guy... a steal at $160 at Officemax right before xmas.

If cameras don't count, The 2 western digital 120gb SE hdd that I got for $50 after rebate are nice, or the HP DVD200i I got when it was brand new on the market for $50 was nice.
