Best Bang-for-my-Buck SSD

I have been out of the loop for a while with regards to SSD's, but I'm thinking of swapping the platter hard drive in my MBP for an SSD.

What is the best bang for my buck out there right now? I'd like something with at least 100GB, but I was thinking of looking in the 120GB range.

NewEgg has a 120GB Intel 510 Elm Crest drive today for $279, but I wasn't sure if that was a good deal.

It does? Link? I'm seeing $314.99 + $5.99 s&h. $279.99 for that drive would be a great deal. But in general, without any deals, the reliable Intel drives (x25m and 320 lines, both Sata II) are still around $2/gb.

That's a good deal for a 510 120GB. I have a 250GB version, and they're amazing. Besides, Intel is known for it's drive reliability.

If you've got the cash, go for it!

You should sign up for the NewEgg daily ShellShocker deals. The deal changes every few hours throughout the day, but if you are on the mailing list you get a preview.

Btw, it's $275, not $280. Not much of a difference but it helps. You can also get free 2 day shipping if you sign up for a 30 day trail of shoprunner. Otherwise it's $6 shipping.

It's free 3-day actually 🙂
Says 2 day on Newegg and on their website.

Edit: Ahh, they changed the shipping as part of the deal. Didn't see that till after I posted. I went ahead and did the shoprunner though, since it also has free returns. My plan is to keep the drive boxed up until some more 120GB reviews come out. If the 510 sucks, I'll just return it.
