Best backyard fireworks display EVAR!!!

So I get invited to some rich guy's July 3rd fireworks party (he does it on the 3rd because everyone has their own plans on the 4th.) I'm actually good friends with his next-door neighbor, and they live only a few neighborhoods away from my parents. Anyway, this guy owns some bike dealerships and he's got some money lying around. He just traded in his Porsche Turbo and bought a Ford GT (see pics below!) So he hires a bluegrass/country band to play in his garage (6-car) and invites the whole 'hood to his backyard. Damn good party ensues!

The fireworks were just AMAZING!!! I'll post a youtube of it when its ready. I have 10 minutes of footage, but what's important to note is that the show lasted 2 hours, and it was NON-STOP FINALE-GRADE FIREWORKS!!! And for his grand finale, he set off some homemade IED that actually produced a shockwave and knocked people back. Seriously, video doesn't do it justice...it dulls the impact.

While certainly not as fancy, I also went to someone's house for fireworks. We had $1200 worth, I believe. I helped set them off. Unfortunately, one of the guys was stupid enough to try and relight one of the fireworks and got nailed in the face. I'm not sure how he is now. Last I heard is he was able to see, which is good.

It was a good time, except for cleaning up after the show.
 
Shoulda kept the Turbo, or traded it in for a Lambo. Similar performance, IIRC.

Meh, his cars, not my problem. Just bookmarking the thread till the video's out.
 
I've seen several "firebombs" go off before. 50 feet high, 30 foot diameter fireball, with a heatwave and shockwave ranging a couple hundred feet. Very cool stuff. I wonder if it's just a bunch of gunpowder in a shell?

Yeah by the time we stopped drinking and got out there, all the good spots on the other side (my left) were taken. Not that it mattered much.

I hate fireworks. I hope they explode in the face of people who play w/ them past midnight. I'm about to get my gun out and hunt down kill the motherfvckers around my block who are lighting sh!t up for the past week. Maybe I should just call up home land security and file a report for domestic terrorists.
