Best backup software?

I have an external USB 2.0 HD that I would like to use to back up my computer on a regular basis, automatically. It's 2x the size of my main drive and right now I just store junk on it. I would like to not have to partition it or make it a drive only usable as a backup, if that's even pertinent. I would like the software to do an exact copy of my drive so if it ever crashes I can reload a perfect copy.

Thanks.

I second Acronis True Image. The only thing it doesn't really have is an automatic means for keeping X weeks of backups.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.

I'll 3rd Acronis, btw!

You can set it up so every time you backup it creates a new backup so you can keep weeks if you like, I forget how to do it but rather than write over your current backup each time it will create a new one. You have to mess with the naming convention.

Back on topic, try Acronis, you won't be disappointed. It's almost too easy to back things up.
