Best AV/Firewall?

I know there are many threads about firewalls and antivirus programs, but I couldn't find one that addressed this issue.

AntiVir is great, Kerio's great. That's all fine and dandy and I know how they compare to their free counterparts. But how do they compare to the non-free ones?

For example, is Norton really crap? Or is it just crap because it isn't free? How does it compare to AntiVir and other free programs? How does Kerio Pro 6 compare to Kerio Personal 4 or 215? Etc.

In short, I guess I'm asking: Disregarding money, what's the best firewall and antivirus?

I used to have Norton Anti-Virus on my PC. It did the job but I resented having to deal wtih how non-responsive Norton's customer service was. It was also very difficult to contact Norton about any problems which I am sure was by design. If Norton was free or less expensive, I would not care but I was paying a premium for a product which is available for less cost or fee elsewhere.

I switched over to McAffee. They are less expensive and they respond to customers. Also, I have found that my PC runs faster now that I have removed Norton. Coincidence? Doubt it.

Norton seems ignorant to trojans. Every time I've installed Kaspersky on a former Norton system, at least 10 trojans were found. Most antivirus's aren't worth the resources they use up; Kaspersky is.
I believe agnitum Outpost firewall is also a great product. I personally don't use any software firewalls though, so I have no personal experience with it.

I see, according to that Kaspersky, McAfee, or Norton seem like the way to go.

Is there a similar site for Firewalls? I'll check out Outpost in the mean time. I'm currently using Kerio Personl 4, but I hear Kerio 2 is just as good if not better.

Haha, when I made this thread, I thought "I know Schadenfroh's got a thread on AV's but it only deals with the free ones." Silly me, I haven't checked your thread in so long I forgot it covered both bases.
