BEST ASUS (or other) for Athlon XP 2000+

I have been using an EPOX 8K7A+ and have had some problems (delayed writes failed, etc.) that I am not sure are mobo related or not, but I am getting a new board. Which are the current best single processor RAID or non-RAID boards by ASUS (or others) for Athlon XP? Can you tell me any reasons why? Also, I want to use my current PC2100 DDR Crucial sticks. Do the new VIA chipsets (or others) make better use of the DDR than the AMD chip on my EPOX?
