Best Apple Apps!

Hey! I thought it would be a good idea to share some ideas on here...so just post about what you think the best apple app is and why!

I am going to go with the classic...Whatsapp! 😀 It's just the best thing ever. Love it! I am also a fan of the Shazam app, finally if you hear a song you can actually find out what it is!!

Mac or iOS?

Best app for Mac for me has got to be "What's Playing Now?"; displays what's playing now on iTunes in your menu bar, along with drop downs to save you ever having to go into iTunes again. This really should be built into OS X/iTunes.

For iOS, these are pretty awesome and must have for me:

iBlacklist
IntelliID
MyWi
iFile
iScheduler
Activator
AdBlocker

I was talking about iPhone apps but the Mac one you mentioned sounds awesome too!

Oh, I've got the TuneIn Radio, but some radio stations for some countries have now stopped working. Which is a massive disappointment 🙁
So far I only use it to listen to one particular station back home, it works fantastically for me. The problem with the stations must be on their end.

For some people, yes. However, many people do not jailbreak their phones and don't miss it.

Thats like saying a virgin doesn't miss sex. You can't miss what you haven't experienced.

Once you've jailbroken, and seen how much the iPhone can do when not held down by the man - you will never go back.

Ok, make with some specifics then. What are we "missing out on"?

Jesus, where to begin:

Customization:

Customizing themes, icons, ringtones, SMS tones. You can't customize the former or latter at all without jailbreak.

I could go on with the different APPS forever so let me just google this for you

this one is the best at showing a lot of specifics.

There is no way I could ever live without apps like BiteSMS which is something that blows my mind that Apple still hasn't included in iOS 7 even when they now have the functionality on the newest OSX. LOL at Apple.

You can sum it by saying you can basically do anything. So what Android users say they can do that iPhone cant..with Jailbreaking, thats out of the question. Except for maybe kernal changes and what have you.

Are we missing out on important stuff like phone calls? video calls? texting? email? browsing? music? photos and video? So on and so forth?

Nope.

Everything you list are just additional features. All the core features are available even if you don't jail brake. You fail to understand that many people don't care about all the additional stuff. As long as the core functions work and are 100% stable, they are not even going to bother taking the risk to run unverified, unsigned code on their device. It's just like a car. When people buy a car, a few are going to take the risk and mod it with aftermarket parts, while most people put more value into their warranty and peace of mind.

Taken another step further, with the sheer magnitude of the variety of apps in the App Store, I hadn't bothered to ever consider what else my 4S could possibly do. I mean, it does more than any PC I've ever owned for god's sake. What more could I want? lol

Exactly. At the end of the day it's a phone for god's sake. I have one extra page of apps besides the stock ones. I know people who have like 10 pages of apps, and I don't understand how they possibly have time to use them all. I wouldn't even remember what I have installed.

I do have 3 pages of apps, but they are all useful to me. FB, FB Messenger, FB Camera, TuneIn Radio, etc. If i don't use an app I delete it, I'd rather not tie up valuable storage on apps that are ornamental.

For iOS:

Camera+ (awesome camera replacement app)
The Hit List (GTD app)
Agenda Calendar (amazing calendar, I upgraded from Fantastical)
Feedly (RSS)
MOG (16 million songs, $10/mo)
Traffic View (patch into traffic cams to see congestion)
Downcast (podcasts)
Filmic Pro 2 (24fps film camera)
Limbo (current game I'm playing, challenging & moody, nice after World of Goo)
Gmail (email)

Yes, yes you are.

AS one example that I'll repeatedly say - if you are doing something and receive a text, you have to leave the app your are in to reply to the text. I do not. You honestly believe that shouldn't be core functionality?

Just one example

You non-jailbreak n00bs crack me up. You guys are the reason Android phanboy's think we are all n00bs

My non-tech savvy son jailbroke his phone, how elite was that? Guess what, he reverted. It was cool for about a week being able to have 5 columns of apps and to be able to change the apps in the launch bar at the bottom.

You crack ME up.
