Best AMD socket 754, nForce3 250gb mobo?

I'm looking for a motherboard around or less than $90. My choices are the Abit NF8 and the DFI LanParty UT nForce3... The DFI is older, but costs more and seems to be very favorable. The Abit NF8 is cheaper, but newer, and seems to outperform the DFI just a tiny bit according to the reviews. Both have what I want: onboard everything (LAN, FireWire, USB, sound) Which one do you recommend? Thanks.

The Chaintech is nice and a little cheaper, not sure offhand about the feature list (used one to upgrade mom's computer last xmas).

I love my Epox 8KDA3J, which costs about $68. You can skip gigabit LAN and get the 3I for $64. I don't know about the Abit board, but the Lanparty seems overpriced, to me.

It's possible. 2.4 may be a bit high though, 2.3 or less is more likely.

i got 2205 (245x9) with 166 memory divider (203 after oc), default voltage, stock HSF. i cant get much higher unless i really slow the memory down with the 133 divider (wish i had a 150 divider). maybe if i messed with the hypertransport

The 8KDA3J has all the necessary overclocking features to get any CPU to its highest possible speeds. With a retail fan, you can expect to achieve at least 2.2 GHz with the 2800+ Newcastle, and probably 2.3 GHz. 2.4 GHz is possible, but anything beyond 2.2 GHz is going to require at least a little bit of luck.

However, a Sempron 2800+ @ 2.4 GHz will out-perform an Athlon 64 2800+ @ 2.2 GHz.

yeah i got 2.2 stable. my memory sucks so i cant get past like 205mhz with it. im using 166 divider. with 133, i'd need 300HTT :Q i can't get higher than 262HTT with an 8x multiplier unless I increase voltage. so i guess 2.2 is the best im gunna get.

Ah... I guess I'll look into the DFI/Chaintech although I don't think the Chaintech has all the onboard stuff I want including sound, FireWire, USB, LAN. Thanks everyone for your help. 🙂))

MSI Neo Platinum is a very nice board, good OCing board and has great features. You can probably find one very cheap on ebay or at egg.
