best AMD CPU for gaming??

The Athlon 64 4000+ can get to about 2.7-2.8 GHz on air. The X2 3800+ gets to about 2.6-2.7 GHz.

My 4000+ only reached 2.6ghz on stock air. I have not used a different air cooler other than stock so I could be wrong, but it you want to use dry ice (sig) you can easily push past 3ghz.
