best am4 cooler that does not need special brackets?

I just got into pc gaming and built me a pc. I have a ryzen 8 core and the normal cooler sucks. It is very loud and my computer gets very hot and shuts down when playing for too long. I want a new cooler but I'm afraid of breaking something with brackets. What do you suggest?

Although you may be scared at first when seeing this cooler, this cooler is very good and has an excellent manual.
The be quiet shadow rock TF 2. It is rated for up to 160W TDP cpu.
The only thing you should know is that it hangs over the memory sticks, although it is in some cases possible to place it 180 degrees rotated with the cooler blowing extra air over the vrm.
But measuring is very important with this cooler.
The height of the memory sticks determines if you can use this cooler.
I have ripjaws V memory sticks similar as below and those are 42mm in height.
Be quiet is very helpful as they provide a motherboard check for this cooler.

The Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4 and Dark Rock Pro 4 use the standard AM4 bracket and mounting is straight-forward. Both are very quiet by all accounts. I'm running the non pro but added a second fan. They are a bit pricey, especially if you want the second fan for the non pro version!

Deepcool gammaxx 400 is probably the best air cooler that uses stock and mounting brackets.

It is however close to 160mm deep.

Also the cooler master masterliquid 120/240 aio's use the stock bracket.

Both the above options are dependent on your case .

In all honesty if you're not overclocking the stock Ryzen coolers should be good enough easily though.

You should list the rest of your specs , including case model & fan configuration.

I personally think your issue is likely down to case airflow more than cpu cooling itself.

I just want something cheap that works without a bracket. My case is a generic 20$ case I bought from the local computer store. It's good because it has ventilated side, front and back. My cpu is very loud under load. The cooler I bought is a generic am4 cooler rated for 65w but its so loud.

https://www.silentiumpc.com/products/spartan-3-pro-he1024-2/ uses the default bracket that is provided on the motherboard. It has nice cost (and should be good, I have good experience with their Fera 2), but I'm not sure these coolers are easy to buy outside of Europe (.pl based manufacturer).

There is also a cheaper version with half the heatpipes. https://www.silentiumpc.com/products/spartan-3-lt-he1012-2/

Edit: There is also the original Wraith, Wraith Max or Wraith Prism from AMD - the heatpiped versions use the stock mounting mechanism, unlike the aluminium Wraith Stealth/Spire. You would have to buy them second-hand though, because in retail they are sold for inflated prices. The tower coolers like the Spartan should be better though.
