Best alternative to HID headlights.

I'm looking for something that looks similar to HID headlights but doesn't cost me my right arm.

Anyone know of anything that is even close to looking as cool as HID headlights that costs under $50?

Thanks,
Joshua

Any cheap blue bulbs will get you the HID look but they are mostly for posers and ricers............

And you can get HID retrofit kits for only $450 or so, not $800. 🙂

Yeah I know people who have the cheap blue bulbs but they dont' look good.

Anyplace online that sells the HID retro kits?

Anything from Osram/Sylvania, Philips, or Hella are generally good stuff.

There are a lot of places you can get HID retro kits for around $500. groupbuycenter has several group buys for HID kits going on right now, some for as low as $350 for the generic kits (I'd at least get the philips kits though). Keep in mind the headlight housing in your car probably isn't designed for HID so if you install them, you'll probably either be blinding oncoming traffic or the beam pattern will be all jacked up. Not really worth your safety or the safety of others just to look cool................

There is NO alternative to HIDs, unless you want to put those crap blue headlights in, and come across as some moron ricer to every other person, and be a cop magnet. You can't even buy the PIAA headlights for $50, so your best bet for now is to go to walmart and pick up some Phillips or GE Super Blue bulbs. Desptie the fact that the bulb has a blue tint, and it says super blue, they are NOT blue. They put out a slightly whiter light, and that is it. I had a hard time telling the difference between stock headlights and these. But they are a little brighter. Beyond this, start saving for a car that is meant to take HIDs, and loose the rice. Otherwise, don't put in HIDs, because you will blind everyone, and endanger other's lives.
