Just got a chance to see how my new car tires (Cooper Treadsafe) perform under heavy rains. And I mean heavy. It rained like crazy here all day (New Haven County,CT) and I drove for abt 90 miles today
There was the occasional swaying here and there, but the car never went out of control (a couple of SUVs and an occasional car did along the way), and overall, I was pleased with the performance. Even the braking was smooth.
This might be a little too non-technical description of what happened, but I can tell you that the driving conditions were far from ideal
. There is road work under way on I 691 near where I live, and the milled out road with poor drainage, i.e. accumulated water on the road didnt help either..
My area still has a floodwatch till tonight (Sept. 28)
