BTW, unles you want to drink A LOT, I'd save the money on the all-inclusive and piece it out myself. You'll save MUCH more money!

I can't recall what we paid now, but my wife and I spent our honeymoon at Sandal's Royal Bahamian in August '01 and had a great time.

Wife and I went to Sandals St Lucia (Golf and Spa). It was awesome but I think it's out of your price range. We're hitting the new Sandals Jamacia this August and spending about 5k for the two of us.

Yeah. Our last vaca cost us about $5000 CDN and the Sandals resorts are the bomb so that sounds about right these days. Hopefully we get to go on a cruise one day, I have heard they are really sweet. We want to see Vegas soon too. So many places to go... so little $. :)

I'd suggest you wait until mid-April. March through about 15 April is high season and rates are much higher than if you wait until about mid-April or so. Also, you will have a tough time finding availability at many of the resorts for March - a lot are already booked up.

The Barcelo Maya is a good option, so is the Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Xpu Ha Palace and the Paradisus Riviera Cancun. Farther south by Tulum is the Bahia Principe which is also a good choice.

The best deal in my opinion is the Catalonia Riviera Maya which has good all inclusive rates and has great reviews on Trip Advisor.

Here's a couple of discount reservation sites where you can check online for availability and rate quotes.

Don't really know where you can check for airfare included packages. I know Apple Vacations had packages for the Catalonia but I don't know how their rates compare or if they still offer this package.

just find a place you want to go to call them on up the fly and tell them you're interested in staying at their resort and ask if they have any rooms open that night that they wouldn't mind having people stay at rather then keep them empty at discounted prices.

some money is better then none.

We paid significantly less than $5k for our last cruise. We had a suite, and I am including all drinks, souvenirs, artwork we bought at auction, airfare, and everything else.

Can't wait to try it. The thought of being able to visit a few different ports of call on 1 trip is very appealing. And the fact that the ships are so huge that they don't even feel like ships until you step out onto the deck is cool too. So many activities right on board.
