Best all around cost/features label maker ?

Folks are often posting here good deals on office stuff like label makers, and as it is of interest for us to label a zillion (actually hundreds) video tapes and other items, might some of us on this board know what the best around cost/features label maker be ?
Not the old style ones that punch out plastic strips that are pushed through mechanically so that the identification takes on a whiter lettering, but the ones that create flat labels that could adhere to video tape label locations.
Preferable fast and able to have various font sizes.

But to answer your question now, I would seriously look into the DYMO LabelWriter. I have the EL60 (midrange model) and it is my favorite system peripheral. Kinda pricey but maybe you can find it at Staples or Buy.com and use a coupon. I got mine a year or so ago at the now-defunct Value America for a hefty discount. :p

The little printers made by Seiko Instruments are the best, sold under a number of names they print either a 1" wide or 2" wide label with pretty much laser quality.

OTOH if you are printing a "known" batch of hundreds of labels, then I would use a laser printer and Avery labels to fit the application. They aren't practical in one off situations due to the multiple labels per sheet, but in quantity they are best.

I had a brother handheld that sucked as the tape kept getting caught in the slicer; I now use a Casio (I think 7200 is the model number) that is great . . . it has a serial port and connects to Windows so you can keep a list on your PC and output to the label printer, but it also has a keyboard on it as well. It allows up to 4 lines of type on wider tape as well, which is good for addresses, and there are wide label tapes that would be great for videotapes.
