Wow, three trillion dollars spent in the music industry, and all we can drum up are a few indie albums and has-beens? Let's face it people - the music industry SUCKS. Sure there's good music out there, but noone can find it.

i love metallica, but lets be honest, that album sucked for metallica standards. IMHO anyway, i can still dig it though.

Top Albums:

Deftones - Deftones
Audioslave - Audioslave
Linkin Park - Meteora

Audioslave was in 2002. Very good album, though. :D

yes it was, but, it was late enough in 2002 to be included in 2003's grammy awards. hence why i included it.

Oh, in that case, I agree. Audioslave is the best album in 2003! :D

I'll go with this one as well. Also, I'll toss a vote to APC - The Thirteenth Step.

Man, it makes me sad to see all these people saying Audioslave. They obviously know not of the greatness that was Soundgarden and how far Cornell has fallen :(

honestly, i dont know a LOT about soundgarden. I hear they had some fantastic lyrics. from the songs i have heard, i think cornell's voice has gotten better, IMHO. At any rate, the greatness of soundgarden and whether or not chris cornell is as good as he once was has nothing to do with whether or not Audioslave is a good album. Musically, the boys of RATM are at their best. It is a different sound for them, but they make it work and work well. I am hard pressed to find one bad song on that CD.

i think audioslave was a really good album, but i don't think it was the best album of the year. all the members haven't relaly gotten in to the flow yet and it still feels a little premature. But some of their stuff that they played during lollapalooza gave a rpetty good taste of what's to come :D

yah. Although, i think they were better on their first tour. Saw em in San Fran in a small venue (warfield) and that show was amazing. lollapalooza was very good too. i just like the sound of the small venues better. I DO think their next album will be better as well. Also, im not saying it was the best album of the year, it was just my personal favorite, which means nothing in the grand picture.

I understand what you're saying but I suppose I just hear it from a bit different perspective. For one I definitely can't agree with you that his voice has gotten better. Go listen to Badmotorfinger or even Superunknown a few times and get back to me :)

I will agree that the Rage members are tearing it up though. However his voice just doesn't seem to fit on quite a few of their songs. It's just a bad match imo. Especially since the members are from two drastically different bands.

I cant necessarily disagree with the last part. But i think thats what makes them such a good band is that they put two different styles together and made it sound good. As for cornell, well i suppose i'll put on superunknown on right now and get back to ya. ive heard it several times before, but i got the impression that his voice was still a bit "raw" if you will. maybe the mixing was done better for audioslave. At any rate, soundgarden was a great band as their over 20million record sales can attest. I'll get back to ya:) (ah i finally figured out how to do the beer)
