I am in the market for an alarm clock (tired of usign cellphone alarm clock) for college -

looking to spend between 15-50 dollars.

Anyone know of any good review sites or specific models?

Thanks!

I got one at walmart that plays CDs. I wouldn't recommend it. The cd player has never really worked. But I do like that it has two alarms and the buzzer starts off quite and slowly gets louder. If I were to buy another alarm I would want those two options.

I never really found the set of options I wanted in one.

I got one that projects the time on the ceiling/wall and has those "nature sounds." I always use the rain one since that gets me the sleep the easiest.

I have another one with the smallest fvcken snooze button ever with a crappy button system to turn the alarm off. I'm wide awake with anger by the time I get it off in the morning.

I wish there was a good alarm clock for the internet insomniac. Ones with cd and radios are pointless if your on the computer all the time. Guess there are no sleek, high tech alarm clocks out there :(

Wow, I was just looking around for this and then I see this thread.

I got a sound of chimes playing and I'm going to schedule it to run in the morning.

The loudest and toughest thing you can find. Toughness is essential for survival on those mornings where you just start hitting things trying to find the snooze button.

I have SmartSet too. It's awesome. Finds the time automatically, has 2 alarms that can be set acording to whole week/weekdays/weekends, and the alarm starts off low and gradually becomes louder.

Honestly, I never got annoyed at the alarm clock for waking me up, unlike the last one I had that just starts loud and makes me irritable because of it.

[edit] This is it, but I didn't buy it Wal-Mart. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product....=4891526&sourceid=16582861292572867496

I have one of those oldskool ones, with the bells. And when I say oldskool, I also mean winding up.

Now, it's not very accurate as a time keeper (usually a bit fast...but you can adjust the speed of it, just that it's not worth it, because it's not that accurate anyways), but the bells and hammer system means that it's sure to wake me up, no matter what time I've gone to sleep.

It's made by a company called Accton, which is apparently big in the UK. I picked it up for 5 GBP at Argos. Might even pick up a couple more ;).
