Trillian is decent, but links in away messages / profiles don't work at all. However, I use it because it lets me talk to people on ICQ, YIM, and MSN also.

I dont like Trillian or Gaim, cos they wont conect to MSN for me. MSN is bloatware, and with it disabled, MS Outlook takes seconds rarther than minutes to open. ICQ itself is too cumbersome for me.
Miranda IM is the best IMO.

I use DeadAIM. It used to be free, then $1.50 per download, and now it's $5. I can email you version 3.2.1 (the last free version). PM me.

Isn't it illegal to charge for a product that mods an AOL product without AOL's consent?

I currently use Trillian but am considering moving to an open source alternative such as Gaim.

If you plan to use MSN, then dont get gaim. It doesnt support the new MSN protocalls yet, which miranda does, after a plugin DL off their website. So try Miranda.

I exclusively use MSN so thanks for the heads up, I'll go with Miranda.

Its never crashed on me. Must be a bad install. Try a Re-Installation.

Mitzi, when you`ve DLed Miranda, go to their website, then plugins, then download the latest MSN plugin. If you can find it, reply back here and i`ll send it you.
Dont forget to disable the MSN integration without Outlook bty. You find that when the MSN Messenger is disabled from Outlook, that Outlook will open almost instantly, rarther than after a minute or so.

Outlook! Ohh nasty! If there is one application I would NEVER use it would be Outlook Express - its got more gaping holes than the Titanic. I use Thunderbird as an email client/newsgroup reader.

Cheers for the offer btw :)
