Best AGP card for Sims 2

My friend wants to play the Sims 2, P4 3.0GHz AGP. 22" Monitor. What would be best? X1950pro or 7800GS?

You could run the sim's 2 with far less than that.

6600gt onwards could play that game at full res.

you need a monster cpu, my machine does sims 2 fine at maxed, but i think i need more ram


all the stuff i download from www.thesimsresource.com hogs up the game (200,000+ items to download!)

ram + great cpu = smooth

I played it on a 9600SE for a long time and it played just fine at 1280x1024. Mind you, just fine, a bit choppy at times, specially outdoors.

With my 7800GS it runs great though.

With my 6800GT, 1600x1200 8x anis with ingame settings maxxed seemed to be the limit, but my sister's 7800GS (running at 470/1400) AGP can run it at 1600x1200 4xaa 16xanis ultra quality no problem.
