best action movie ever?

what is the best action movie evar? I'm not talking some panzy action movie with a good plot or anything-- I'm talking about a non-stop, edge of the seat, shoot-em up, car chase, nonstop thriller... something that has you sweating and your heart pacing so that you're glued to the screen.

right now i'm watching terminator 2: judgement day.. something i'd say definetly qualifies for a top spot.

what are your pics?

Fargo. Even if it's completely boring and pointless --just for that ONE SCENE where the guy is putting his friend through the wood chipper 😀 😀 😀

Commando, for laughably fake effects and egregious action

Face Off, because it seemed to go on forever

Matrix, mind-blowing effects but lots of lulls

LOTR, blows your mind away with the fantasy and effects

Any Jackie Chan, just because they're fun to watch!

Well if you could consider the Indiana Jones series action, then I'd have to put my money on Raiders of the Lost Ark. Most people tend to equate action with lots of techno gunfights though so I guess it wouldn't count if that's the case; probably falls closer to adventure I suppose. But it still has some good action sequences in it and an overall plot and feel that makes it one of the most rewatchable movies ever (i.e., you can watch it no matter what you're in the mood for.)

Other than that, I'd personally vote for the original Die Hard or T2.

This might be kind of random, but Total Recall...The special effects were pretty effective and it did keep you guessing....
