Thanx for the heads up....
but there are 2 versions of that board:

D975XBX2LKR @tigerdirect

D975XBX2KR @egg

according to intels website that model @ tigerdirect doesn't have some of the features as the other model @ newegg...thats wierd...not sure if i trust tigerdirect, sounds misleading to me.

I had the same suspicions but I indeed recieved a BOXD975XBX2KR. The differences in the two is that the blkd975xbxlkr is the "bulk" or OEM version and comes with a 1 year vs 3 year warranty from Intel:

The one you're thinking of is a "Corporate" version and is a third OEM type board that is more geared for corporate use, I can't remember the exact part number though...

I got the full 3 year warrantied Box version at Tigerdirect.

EDIT I was wrong about the part numbers:

Here's how I think it goes

- BOXD975XBX2KR = Full boxed version 3 year warranty

- BLKD975XBX2KR = Same as boxed but 1 yr vs. 3 yr warranty

- LAD975XBX2LKR =
Different Audio (no spdif and different chip)
Includes iAMT in the LAN
No secondary SATA
No Firewire
Has TPM
1 Year Warranty

go like this

6600
p5w-dh deluxe
2x1gb ballistix pc2-8000

i have all the above, and it screams. fast memory gives you more reliable overclock. (doesnt stress memory, and only slightly more expensive.)

The BLKD975XBX2KR has the same warranty as the BOXD975XBX2KR they are both considered Boxed the BLK comes in brown box,has fewer sata cables and ribbion IDE cables not the round ones., but both boards come with a 3 yr warranty.
the LAD975XBX2KR is a cheeper version of this board and has less features and comes with a 1 yr warranty.
