Agree above. Panaflos are well known for quiet and very effecient. Stick the the L "Low" version if you are looking for less noise. You can buy them Here. Good Luck!

Toro 45 since you have used them both, the YS and crystaL fan. Which is better? The price really makes a difference.

The Crystal Clear is spec'd slightly higher but I found them both to be pretty comparable. The YSTech has a nicer control dial for exterior mounting & the CC has the blue led which is kinda cool.

If your just going for price & performance I'd grab the crystal, whats nice about both of them is you can turn them very low(quiet) or very high(loud/cool). That price is so low on the crystal I may have to snag one for my son he really liked the blue LED's

If you can find them right now, the 45 cfm Delta is a better choice for the AX7 than all these others. It is an 80 X 38mm fan and is a focused flow fan that produces a higher static air pressure than the 80 X 25 mm fans mentioned above. The noise on it is around 39 dB, which fits your criteria also. The only problem is finding one right now. Sidewindercomputers has some on order, but they won't be coming in until sometime in October. I plan to get a few of them and replace the 68 cfm Delta's I'm presently using.

Why don't you just get a rheostat and lower the speed on that 68cfm Delta? Is there an actual physical difference between the 45cfm and a slowed down 68cfm delta?

You definitely want the fan blowing down on the HS. I'm going to put Vantec Stealth's on mine, but here's a thread that should interest. Notice Jerky's clever mod using a 92mm fan, something I might do at some point.

ok It has been awhile since I have turned around my fan so it blows into the heatsink. However, now when my fan blows at full speed my CPU temp amd case temp read the same. I have an MSI KT3 Ultra board. My guess is that the case sensor is located around the area of the CPU. I also know that the temps for the CPU are read off of the CPU and are not very accurate.

it would fit nicely in your dba rating.

The fan maker label faces the direction of airflow. I beleive this is standard with all fans.

that's the exact fan i have on top of my swiftech mcx4000. i would recommend this as well:)
