Best 3D movie you ever saw in your life?

Hobbit was for me. This was the first movie that ever made me duck when the random bird flew at me. The alter in the moon scene also appeared to be in the middle of the theatre.

Most other 3d movies were subpar, the worst being Toy Story 3.

Jaws 3D. Saw it in the theatre as a kid; when the shark bites that fish and the bone went right into my eye...never forgot it. That was the last time I enjoyed a 3D movie.

I've only seen a couple, and both were underwhelming. What I was super impressed with was the 3D stuff they do at Disneyland. Hard to believe it's just an optical trick with the kind of depth they get.

Creature from the Black Lagoon. It wasn't good, but it was better than Avatar.

Don't think I've seen any others. Considering how much time was between me viewing those two movies, if I keep up this rate I'll probably die before I watch another 3D movie...

Avatar.

Can anyone comment on the 3D + HFR of the Hobbit inducing motion sickness? I'm not sure if it's just a rumor or a credible concern.

avatar for sure. it's funny too because it's the first one that was really mainstream with the newer tech.

worst i saw was the new spiderman. terrible 3d effects.

generally speaking i think that animated movies look better in 3d. some scenes in finding nemo are incredible.

I always liked that RealD 3D demo before some of the movies. It's the one where that robotic ball thing flies off the screen and around the theater in front of you. I've always preferred when 3D worked with the foreground even though that's apparently harder on your eyes? The reason is that I can typically just perceive the depth that's beyond the screen, but as something gets closer to the screen, it simply appears "flatter."

I haven't seen a 3D film in a theater in decades, but am considering seeing The Hobbit in 3D. For those that have seen the various 3D formats, what would be the best 3D version to see: Digital 3D, IMAX 3D, or HFR 3D?

Avatar. Was the first and only 3d movie I've seen that used the effect to enhance the movie, and not simply as a gimmick.
