I was previously looking into the 30" samsung computer monitor, but it seems others use their 1080p LCD TV sets for gaming and have no problems and love them. Plus you get more inches for less $$$.
So I am now thinking I am going to get a 1080p TV in the 37" - 42" inch range (I think any bigger would be too big given that its going to sit on my computer desk).
I am truly clueless as to LCD TVs and getting them to work with computers.
Can anyone recommend some models that are 100% certain to work, and work well, with PCs? I definately want 1080p compatability (~1900x1000 resolution seems low as it is for such a big screen, don't want anything lower).
Also, any particular video card/cables I need to get it working and working as pretty as it can be? I am going to order a new video card, so which one should I get? Was going to get an 8600GTS unless you guys don't think that is powerful enough to handle a ~1900x1000 resolution on max settings, in which case I'll get an 8800GTS. I've heard ATI cards have driver issues with LCD TV monitors so I will stay away from. As far as cables go I just have a standard vga cable and I suspect I will need some digital cable.
Any models I should be sure to stay away from? Last thing I want is to buy it only to find out it won't do full 1080p mode will a PC or something crazy like that.
Thanks a bunch.
