Im thinking about getting a 360 Elite and would like to hear what your favorites games are. With only one exception and that is no multiplayer fps which I prefer to play on PC (which is even rarely nowadays), thanks.

If you don't mind multiplayer in a non-FPS:
Gears of War (ok, it's a TPS...)

Since you have a gaming PC, take Mass Effect off of the 360 list and get the PC version next month.

The nice thing is that you can pick up the Original Trilogy for ~$10 on half.com and probably some other places. I think it's a Platinum Title on the 360, so it's $19.99 new anyway.

I agree on GRAW. I bought it after playing Rainbow Six: Vegas (because they're both squad-based tactical shooters) and did not much care for it. I admittedly didn't give it a whole lot of time though.

-Oblivion (only because i'm saving it for the console while i don't have access to my gaming PC)
-Worms (co-op)
-Overlord
-Halo 3 (co-op)
-Project Slypheed (oh how i yearn for Colony Wars)
-Doom (yea, old school PC but picked it up on xbox live and it plays very well on the 360 along with using your own soundtrack as the games music SUCKS)

The rest of what i have is in case i'm stuck with my console for so long I run out of good games/books and have nothing left but to drink and play 360 with no chance of scoring for a few months (job related).

-edit- Have a look at the GTA3 games, GTA4 is also due to release soon IIRC, i just only play these on PC -edit-
 
Thanks for all the lists and link. Mainly wanted to get a console for GTA5 and RE5 but looks like there are a lot more good titles out there. Dead Rising looks hilarious! Is there even an objective 🙂

The first time I stabbed a zombie in the head with a showerhead and blood flowed out through the showerhead I busted out laughing - and my wife did too.
 
I play almost exclusive coop with a friend. My favorites are:

Gears of War (my favorite 360 game thus far)
Rainbow 6 Vegas (both 1 and especially 2)
Crackdown (great coop game for $20 or less used)
GRAW (short coop story mode though)

I did not like Halo 3 at all. We picked it up 1 weekend and returned it in < 2 weeks.
 
Oh yeah, OP - you don't have to trust us or reviewers to tell you that these games are good. Many of them have demos that you can play once you get your 360. But at least now you know which demos to start with.

Ninja Gaiden II is coming June 3rd. It will almost certainly be great. Dunno if you're into sports games, but I really like NBA 2K8.
 
So far after two weeks I own

1) Dead rising - most fun I've had sense GTA:SA
2) Assassins Creed - very fun, no replay value, but good story and intuitive if a bit reptitive gameplay.
3) Perfect Dark Zero - not all that fun
4) Rock Band - Has replaced smash bro's as the party game at my house.
