I have much love for Corsair XMS2. The particular DIMMS I run are the TWIN2X2048-6400C4.
Are these really 2x2GB? They look like 2x1GB to me.

I'm also looking for a 2x2GB kit. As I understand (though I'm not in the least sure about his), this is supposed to be faster/better/more stable than 4x1GB, and it has the added benefit that I can still upgrade to 8GB in the future.

I'm not sure how noticable the difference will be, but I'm hoping to find affordable modules with CL 4. This one sounds like it fits the bill if it really is 4 GB.

It's not.
That poster obviously didn't read the thread title 😛

G.Skill & Mushkin both make very nice 2x2 GB DDR2-800 TCL (CAS) 4 kits, amongst others.

If you don't plan on heavy OCing, many of the kits rated at CAS 5 would be fine, & would likely even run at TCL 4 anyway with a slight vdimm bump.*

*Not all will; the really cheap CAS 2x2 kits wouldn't be as likely to, though your lucky can vary like anything.
